The neighborhood we live in used to be a date and citrus ranch.
There still some original left over date trees throughout it.
There was one on our property when we bought it back in '77.
It was in sad condition. So it got removed before we built our house.

Nice pic !  That is kind of surreal against the night sky.

And they are Date Palms to boot !  Yum !  Rarely see images of them, at least in my neck of the woods.

There are still quite a few of them around the valley.
They tear some down. Then they plant more somewhere else.
I particularly don't care for dates. Way too sweet for me. Almost sickeningly so. Debbie loves them.
They're supposed to be most excellent for you.

Our grand daughter had a softball game in the big Palm Desert park.
I was really enthralled by stadium lights since I was a little kid back in the early 60's. That fake sunlight just threw my senses off for some reason.
So I took this picture because the palm trees gave me a flashback.
She won her game too!

A guy riding a little putt-putt mini motorcycle around town with a HUGE confederate flag flying off the back. Emblazoned on it was "Come and take it." {#Rolleyes}
