"No Memory is Ever Alone is a visual conversation between my dad and I. He used to bring out a box of slides that he photographed in his late teens and early 20s every Christmas and made us view them on an old projector on our living room wall telling the same stories every year. It was a consistent memory from a childhood where we moved a lot and I never felt like I had a steady âplaceâ to live and create memories. I realized that by placing the slides in my current landscape, I created not only a connection between his life and mine, but a trail of memories, each that had its own association for both of us. A lot of these slides are of my mom, they were together almost 60 years..."

Okay, so this will probably be a lot of typing for just a few peoples' (none?) benefit, but I'm willing to give it a whirl. Those of you have met hiccup and hiccup jr. are probably aware of why I call hiccup jr. that. I mean, that child looks like her mama. So, last week I get an e-mail from my dad saying he was digging through some stuff and found a pic of his grandmother. I'm honestly a little weirded out by it-
Genetics are very, very strange. I showed it to junior, and she asked if I had any later pics of great grandma so she can see what she'll look like when she's older.

I'm sure they outlined the two guys for a reason. Which escapes me. Or was never in me to begin with. But it looks like they might have made marks for the stripper/platemaker to follow, like maybe they wanted them silhouetted or something in the halftone? Hmm.
Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. If I got the story correct, the photo originally ran in the Denver newspaper. The other UW guy on the left contacted them sometime in the '70s to get some copies of the photo, and then forwarded one on to my grandpa. I was just happy to have an "action shot". I also have a pic of grandpa in his UW letter sweater and my brother in his UW letter jacket somewhere in our basement...need to track that one down and digitize it.
My grandfather (right) representing the University of Wyoming in a track meet circa 1940.

That's pretty wild and I'm not (just) talking about the hat.

what was the can of worms??? I've joined the Genealogy! Just ask Group on FB. There are a number of people in there doing a lot of research and seem to be really helpful to those who are searching..... I also just joined the LDS site (can't remember the name,) and discovered that my pgf might've remarried......
This just went past on my FB feed. Most interesting is the woman who sold her:

Since work got a little slow, I went on Ancestry.com to figure a couple of things out about my family. And did I open up a can of worms.
My great, great grand father and his wife came from Austria to Minnesota back in 1896. Another later family picture with nine of their 13 children. My grandfather wasn't born yet...
