Yesterday afternoon I attended the zoom memorial for a guy from my wifeâs church, whom Iâd gotten to know well over the years. Eccentric, especially about medical stuff, so I held him at armâs length. But a funny, comfortable man with open arms for everyone. Then he developed multiple myeloma, tried treating it ânaturallyâ and we had his memorial today. His widow ran the tech, since sheâs good at that, and created a ten minute summary of pictures with some wonderful music behind it. Watching him go from a toddler to a man to a wraith was really difficult. Folks, you never know if youâll get the time to do the things that make you enjoy your relatively brief life.
As Ben Folds said, do it anyway.
Sorry to hear. Never easy to see a close one leave.

Me too. Someone suggested that I relay the news about their final resting place...Hobbitt and BHD's ashes were combined together...some were scattered at the Labs and some by their favorite resting log (nicknamed "the Couch") at Kala Point Beach. The rest were sent to family in New Jersey.
Nice, We'll take the dogs on a stroll that way too... Kala Point, not NJ.

I'm sitting in a chair that I admired on a visit to the Labs and come to find out, they hated them so BHD and a friend stuffed them both in a Volvo and drove them here.
Alexandra made sure P got many of their sacred objects; they introduced her to shamanic practice.

Exactly as I would have guessed.

I can't believe it's been a month. I'm still gutted. I miss them both so much.

We're planning a trip to Pete shortly. I'll be having a pint and a plate of jalapeno poppers in remembrance. I need to find a token from Mike to sneak into the accumulated flair.

Went to many concerts by Boston. Sad news, but the core has long been gone.
