Hilarious!

Hmmm....  is there a western Canadian version hidden somewhere here that is dying to poke out?      "Completely Alberta"?

As a long lost native son, I'm immediately adding that to my repertoire (hmmm, using a French word to describe adding a Norwegian phrase to the vocabulary of a nomadic PNW'r from Texas.... that will give someone a fit).

the only other industry/technology that i can think of at the moment that could have a bigger impact on our climate is nuevo nuclear

tesla's tech is inspirational and efficient
it is being copied/emulated around the world
why? because it works? demand?
are there things about tesla/spacex/starlink that could be better? yes
and they seem to be busy af pursuing that goal

Texas judge issues injunction against anti-abortion group on enforcing new law

(copied from FB)
You know, it would be a real shame if people understood that an inexpensive VPN or proxy service can make it appear that your IP address originates in Texas and allow you to access sites that are restricted to in-state IP addresses. It would also be just awful if people knew that you can generate six fake Texas addresses in seconds at: coolgenerator.com/address-generator
I probably shouldn't mention that you can download a list of thousands of fake names in minutes at: fakenamegenerator.com/order
I seriously should not bring up that fake one-time email addresses can be had at: throwawayemail.com
Because it would be truly terrible if starting September 1st, every day hundreds of plausible but fake reports were submitted to: prolifewhistleblower.com
Because it seems like this site was started by a private organization, and I'm sure the authorities would be slightly upset if they were handed a hundred or so fake tips daily. Even if the folks running it did do some checking before filing police reports or lawsuits, it would be terrible if their manpower and IT resources were drained by having to filter through hundreds or even thousands of plausible reports daily. If they're leasing server time from a cloud provider, they may even be charged a variable rate based on site traffic and server usage. So it's possible they could incur so fairly high costs even if they put an app in place to automatically filter reports.
That would be a darn shame, wouldn't it?
It would be even worse if someone programmed a bot to do this automatically at random intervals.

There are also HIPAA issues that you can get around if you only target the providers.

Other ways you can be sued under this law:
If you give someone a ride to the clinic
If you think about giving someone a ride to the clinic
If someone asks where a clinic is and you tell them.
If someone asks where a clinic is and you think about telling them
If someone is in distress over their situation and you comfort them and they wind up having an abortion or being guilty of any of the above.

Speaking of Texas, and guns, and abuse of process..

This new approach weaponizes the abusive nature of civil law to punish those engaging in lawful, constitutionally-protected activity. Sound familiar to anybody?

This is an underhanded tyrannical approach to harassing people who are acting within their rights. But does the tactic bother you, or just the victims in this case?

I would agree, but re. guns...I think we as a nation need to decide what types of  guns and ammo we want floating around our society, and/or how these firearms are procured.
Doing it with isolated, underhanded, overly complex legislation is not the answer.  Instead, we need simple rules/regulations.
