Gorgeous. I don't think I could manage the responsibility - but we've looking. I know Mag is starting to really want one. She spent about 3 days - I can't even have the hawks anymore so we surely can'y have a dog.

Yay!  That is a great "rescue" story!  Love that the breeder didn't charge you for her, and is letting you make a donation instead.

Thank you all!

Her name is Craigston Collete (Lettie for short), and she's 5 years old. She was bred as a show dog, but her left ear is crinkled, and didn't show well. She also wasn't able to conceive, so she was put up for adoption.  I was looking for a puppy and called on the breeder, and while he didn't have a pup, he mentioned he had an adult dog that he was looking to find a home for. He came down and checked me out to make sure we were a good fit, and then I went to Delaware (at the co-owners kennel) to pick her up. While the breeder didn't charge me for her, I promised to make a donation to a dog rescue of his choosing, and so I have.

I've forgotten what it's like to be owned by a dog....
