Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing.
Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing.

You ever love someone so much you thought your little heart was gonna break in two?
I didn't think so.
You ever tried with all your heart and soul to get you lover back to you?
I wanna hope so.
You ever pray with all your heart and soul just to watch her walk away?

Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing.
Baby did a bad bad thing, feel like crying, feel like crying.

You ever toss and turn your lying awake and thinking about the one you love?
I don't think so.
You ever close your eyes your making believe your holding the one your dreaming of?
Well if you say so.
It hurts so bad when you finally know just how low, low, low, low, low, she'll go.

Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing.
Baby did a bad bad thing, feel like crying, feel like crying.

Ohh. Feel like crying, feel like crying.
Ohh, feel like crying, feel like crying.

Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing.

Great!! My favorite Chris Isaak song!  Thanx RP!

I think they refer to it as 'the blues'

don't worry:

This song came out at the exact time I was going through a break up. My life felt like the video to this song every time it came on. Life and Art... crushing it.

So Chris, what exactly did your bad baby do?!

Are you kidding with ZZ Top?  That's nearly the most standard riff in all blues.  Yes, ZZ Top.  How many times?

Did ZZ Top ever pay John Lee Hooker or Slim Harpo for "borrowing" that groove?  No.  It was since deemed a standard blues rhythm - in the public domain.
Wow, he's just such a tough guy. Ugh, and now he's gonna cry.

Go see Chris once.  You'll see why George can't compete.

Very very tired of this.
great performer, just as good live, must turn this up ever time
Most excellent
Just love how you hear the first few cords and instantly know the song.

(.. ups the volume on his old Onyko SR804 connected via toslink, in kicks the sub, feels comfort in a classic...) {#Bounce}

I wouldn't say this was a bad bad song but I would say that Eyes Wide Shut was a bad bad movie.
Mainly because just about everything else Kubrick did was amazing.

There's a documentary coming out on Eyes Wide Shut. Produced/directed by the same fellow that did the recent Filmworker, about Leon Vitali, the former actor (Barry Lyndon) and slavishly devoted right hand assistant to Kubrick from The Shining to FMJ to EWS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUQWu1x_zNc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhXLE4xUy7w

This EWS documentary apparently will have some observations about the movie — its hidden subtext or camouflaged meaning — that could turn opinions like yours into something more favorable. I am a huge SK fan, but I too found EWS a bit...unfulfilling. Unlike other SK movies, some seen 20, 30, 40 times, I've seen EWS only 3 times and have found it very intriguing, but also chilly, a bit murky, and remain uncertain what he was trying to get at.
But this song is to my mind associated with the movie most clearly, except those hammered piano chords.
well I dig this  : P       oustanding

He wrote a bad bad song. At least it gets tiresome hearing this dude robo-whining about his love life.
But Stanley Kubrick and his musical team liked it enough for Eyes Wide Shut, I guess.

The version for the movie is different, a little kickier.  Tried for an upload back in those days.  Insta sorried it was.  I do like the soundtrack version more than the album version, but its all right as it is.

Meh. The uptempo break is good. I would prefer to not hear Isaak crying into his beer about his soul-and-ball-busting paramour on every damn song.
Decent song. Waayy overplayed.
can't believe this is 21 years old. Always loved his retro-style.

Bill, it used to be a song I enjoyed, you are kinda beating it to death. CI has sooooo many more tunes you could choose...please?
Sitting in my backyard in the woods with a campfire going this song rocks

Loved this the first few hundred times I heard it; I think it needs a rest.

Bill, this one needs to go OUT of rotation. I am a huge CI fan, and personally liked this tune, but you have killed it for me...please stop the pain and pick one of tens of dozens of his much better catalog...please, please, please! I listen to RP 24/7, this tune is done.

I'm not quite to this point, but as good as this song is, there are better choices on the album, IMO.
I don't know what it is, but I love this song.
There's a song that Bill plays in tandem with this tune from time to time.  The guitar line fits SO well together with it.  Anyone know what the tune is?

Wicked.  The only answer to my baby doing a bad bad thing is for me to go walking down there.

I like most of his stuff but this one has always felt fabricated, since it was specifically done for the Kubrick film.
Needs to be heard at very high sound pressure levels with this great AAC feed !

That's why he was fired (unfortunately)!

Yeah... like Chris Isaak!

Who else commented on this: that guitar refrain sounds like ZZ Top's LaGrange. Is this lick a common bluesy trope among guitarists, or did Isaak just 'borrow' it?

Yeah, it's a pretty common blues lick; it's probably used in hundreds (if not thousands) of tunes in some form.  As OldSaxon pointed out, John Lee Hooker is likely credited with creating it - in the late 1940s.
PLEASE!!!! Let this song finally die out or play something else on the album!!

Haow, haow, haow, haow....but then again that's from John Lee Hooker, ain't it?
Stockton boy does good.
Excellent song

That is a GREAT suggestion!  I would tune in to see him.....  In addition to giving musical input and looking good, he could provide some well-needed comic relief (which Steven Tyler was great at), that's for sure.

What is it that your babe did, Chris?

Running away with your guitar-player? That one?

Regarding his "beauty", all of you girls were talking about

I never felt his big head fit onto that rather small body.

I guess most of you would not agree, but I never thought he looked
better than me. And that is anything but decadence!

All it says is about Chris!

He certainly sings better than me!
Guitar too? Possibly not!

Oooh - an achingly good set here - Pumpkins, Dave Matthews, ELO, Zep and now Chris Isaak.

Individually they are good to great, but to hear them played back to back, unexpectedly, is a fine distraction.

Rating goes to 8; speakers go to 11...
