That, my friend, is a perfect description! Thank you.

I am somewhat struggling to see how this relates to Stevie Ray Vaughan, even though I agree with the sentiment!

Just noticed how Riviera Paradise and Radio Paradise are similar in name. Sure would get my vote if Radio Paradise chose this tune as its official theme song
My Oh  my.....I just love this piece by Stevie Ray!!!!!
One of the sexiest songs I've ever heard...
In the "olden days", this stunning song played over the final credits of our public television station (KET). We would sit until the very last note - mesmerized.
Brand new to me this evening. Wow! Straight to 10. What an ear pleasing piece. Thank you Bill and Rebecca šŸ™
There's cool, then there's Riviera Paradise cool.

There's a lot of negativity thrown around cos folk don't appreciate this or that music. What's the point? If we all liked the same 10 bands, who's gonna buy music from the zillions of others, huh?

Me? I don't suppose I'll buy the album, but what a chilled tune
It's amazing to consider the greatness he achieved by age 35.

I've always appreciated SRV's music, then I saw a documentary about his too-short career and learned about his addiction struggles, then sobriety, and boy that is what makes his death that much more tragic, eh?  I'm at an easy 9 on this one.

Long Live RP and RIP SRV!!

I don't rate too many songs a 10,  and this song is one of them.
Piano solo in the middle is a nice touch.
SO smooth. Just right for a Friday evening.
If I rate it 10 again does that count as a 20?  I'm a writer and I still cannot begin to convey in words how good this song is.

unbelieveable he's been gone 30 years.  saw him at Alpine valley 2 nights before the crash; visited him in Dallas the following year.  we raised a toast to him as we played this song at Laurel Land.  man, what he could have provided musically the last 30 years.  still miss him.  but we have this gorgeous song, among others, to remember him by.
Just to remind you (next support shout) some people actually do live in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I have interesting Edinburg story about a taxi &RP ā€¦later

Every single piece of this is amazing...take a moment and listen to the various instruments and the interplay...musicianship at its finest...

A 10...doesn't get better than this....

Chills up the back. Nice.
What a fitting end to the final album. I just have to stop what I am doing and listen.  It's such a beautiful composition.

RIP Stevie Ray.
It is impossible to overrate SRV.
Not enough 'O's in smooth...

Sure he could play a zillion notes, but he could give every one soul.

I read this story from the producer or engineer about when this song was recorded (on tape, live, with everyone in different rooms), and the tape was getting low, and he was trying to get everyoneĀ“s attention to wrap it up before the tape ran out.  They were totally into it, and he couldnĀ“t flag them, but magically they finished it up just in time and a few seconds later the end of the tape ran off the reel.
Guitar tone is unreal as of course is his playing.  Perfect 10 for me.
God Damn!

I suddenly feel...cleaner.
Any SRV sticks me right in the heart!!
Picture this: enjoying a cold beer in the sun on my just finished wooden terrace when this song comes around. Heavenly!!
One of my favorites.  Will never be tired of this song.
Stevie, like Jimi, died before really stretching out into the vast universe of noises to make with an axe.
Ahhh, so tasty!
One of the best songs in the history of music, IMHO. Pure aural magic.
I bought this CD when it came out but havenā€™t heard this track in over twenty years! Most excellent.
I've never heard this and I never want it to end.  Just wow.

A piece of music this good makes me stop in my tracks, close my eyes, and simply listen.

Up next to spoil the mood, yapping dogs.!
Stevie always made me hot with those talented fingers. He's who really got me into blues, may he rest in peace.
If you're going to wear a poncho, you gotta have the chops to back it up.
Masterpiece....
I am sure SRV could have taken 10 cuts & all of them would have worked...FEEL baby!
What a showcase, everything we love about SRV; great tone, great dynamics and such impeccable taste in his phrasing on the fretboard.

I give SRV an eleven. The pure soul. had the honor to see him a few times at little dive clubs back then and hang back stage with him
Holy smokes! I consider myself a fan of SRV, but I guess I'm not the ultimate fan, because I had not heard this. Gorgeous. Thanks for making my day and showing me something by him I'd never heard. It's the little things in life, and this was a nice gift for today.

Magnifique. Quelle splendeur.
One of the very few songs that was actually composed by SRV and truly a masterpiece.
So much of Stevie's soul pours from his guitar on this tune. The raw emotion is palpable.

I love the mix of flourish and restraint in this one. Not easy to do both.
First time to hear this - rated it a 9.
Then listened a bit more while reading all your comments and bumped it to a 10.
If it can bring responses like yours it's truly godlike.
Shit! Already rated it 10. Do that every time.

Sitting in my office. Cranking on some code. Glancing at the folks around me. And thinking much more than I usually do how much I like them.

And then I realize it's because this tune has put me into such a good mood.
I am not really a SRV fan, but this one is just sooooooo nice.

I really enjoy the eclectic nature of our two DJ's. That being said, I would never complain if we got stuck in this groove.

Still miss you, Stevie.
The opening notes always grab my attention, but don't remind me of what is about to happen.  It takes my brain a few seconds to catch up.  And then I smile as I realize I'm about to have 10 minutes of relaxing bliss.

Thanks for this. I reserved Hofstadter's book from the library. Just the jewel of a concept I was looking for.
Clearly his last name was used for the character Leonard Hofstadter on Big Bang Theory.

But, I digress. SRV rules. Sorry I missed this playing. Cool concept about loops, though.
