Keep the  politics out of RP.
I defy anyone not to laugh when the chicken lady explodes.

Thing is, this group has loads of great songs, yet this is the only played here. C'mon Bill, you're supposed to be more avant garde than that.

Avant garde? This album was released in 1988! I propose "Crate Diggin'" is a more genuinely descriptive term cuz' kids conceived to this music are now old enough to have a couple or ten kids of their own.

Clearly, you haven't crushed hard enough.

Edit: crush harder.

Love the tune selection on RP... a 9 from this poor ol' boy
Our band played with the Shadowy Men in 1986 at the now defunct Railway Club in Vancouver along with the Shuffle Demons as part of the CIRAC Festival. Good memories of good times when we were all much younger...
SMSP are great! And that's a fact!

Especially in light of how flat some of her material has been lately....

Rejoice! The Kids are in talks to do another series. Looks like this one will be on an online platform instead of broadcast.

Well their last offering, Death Comes To Town, was about 75% horrible (it was about 25% gold tho so I think the concept just got drug out too long, just like poor Buttonhole) so I hope it's sketch comedy and not a mini-series!
Oh hey, it's Canada's national anthem!

Celebrate! The Kids will be back on Canadian TV in January 2010. They are doing an eight-episode program called "Death Comes to Town." Instead of sketch comedy, it will be a series with a story arc. Ah, Canada. Curling and the Kids...

Good to hear it, and I'm hoping it makes it over to this side of the Pond sometime soon. I really liked the Kids way back when - deliciously offbeat and laid-back humour.

OH shi-

everyone of these "beach blanket bingo" songs sounds exactly the same, , , , blah blah blah . . .
I first heard this song when I came to Canada 6 years ago. By now, having watched hours and hours of KITH, this is totally stuck in my head and an anthemic song for many Canadians :D
Funny.. I'm in the middle of watching the entire Kids in the Hall Series.. Good times.
Awesome song.  Even before the Kids in the Hall..

I think this song is half the reason I began watching The Hall back when. It was the second or third show.  Always thought this song was way cool.

good pretty good! arrggg bandoleros!!!
Cool! It's the Kids in the Hall theme!
What?...Whaaaaaaaat???
I'm crushing your head!
Never had seen Kids in the Hall until recently, seeing their first season on DVD - outstanding! I\'m sure Thirty Helens agree!
Awesome! Now, this is what I call eclectic radio!
Recently finished watching the entire KITH run (except Brain Candy, did anyone else find that a horrible letdown?) on netflix, and have been going through withdrawl from all that saturation, but this helps sooth it a little...
I\'m squishing your head! Or was it \"crushing your head...\"?
Mark: I can't believe he's dead. Scott: To Reg! Dave: To Reg! Rest: To Reg! Dave: Gee, you know guys, it seems like only yesterday we were a bunch of kids hangin' out, gettin' Slurpees. Next thing you know we all got jobs. Kevin: . . .Or girlfriends. Next thing you know, they're moving in with ya. Bruce: Next thing you know, you're out buying piano wire, good strong piano wire, and sneakin' up on ol' Reg while he reads. Dave: Jobs become careers. Kevin: Girlfriends become wives. Bruce: And Reg becomes a lifeless corpse in your arms. Scott: Kinda--it kinda makes you think about the fragility of life. Mark: Not really. Remember how he fought back? Scott: What a death grip! Almost broke my wrists! Dave: Hey--easy to beat up; hard to kill. All: To Reg!
Great surf rock sound from that band, The Kids in The Hall had some theme song.
Nice melodies dive into Nabla's ears again...

These guys were great. They were basically a Toronto club band who were doing instrumental surf rock like this years before the Pulp Fiction-inspired revival. I saw them live once and wasn't expecting much but they played an amazing, fun and energetic set. It'd be great to hear more of them on RP though I'm ashamed to say I don't have any albums.
slipped my mind...

These guys sound a lot like the (?) early sixties band The Shadows... Names just a coincidence? Anyone know? (yes, I know they did the music for Kids in the Hall)
