I guess I should turn out the light and bide my time
Tomorrow eight o’clock, you said, would be just fine
But tomorrow’s so far away
And only you can make this brain shut down
Oh, won’t you come around?
Now, I think I’m getting much too fond
I know you got a lot of stuff going on
You got your rules and you need your beauty sleep as well
But time moves like glue
And in my head it’s you I’m always talking to
I’ve been found! Oh, won’t you come around
With your long hair down?
Won’t you come around?
Well, I don’t want to move too fast
I’m hoping this is gonna last-the way you smile
When you catch me coming makes me ten foot high
No, I don’t want to rush you now
But maybe tonight you can break your rule somehow
Oh, won’t you come around
With your long hair down?
Won’t you come around?
And shut my thinking down?
Oh, won’t you come around?

I have been a HUGE Paul Kelly since first hearing him in 1988...his early stuff with the Messengers is Brilliant....Please Please Please Bill from Paul Kelly's vast catalogue...you will not be sorry...He played Detroit about 40 years ago with the his full band...The Messengers at a small club..Me and my buddy John drove 2.5 hours in 8 inches of snow to get to the show...there were like 25 people who made it to the show due to the bad weather...when we walked into the door, there was Paul on a pay phone talking...We waited for him to finish and John called his wife to tell her we made it to the show and Paul got on the phone with here and told her that he would take care of us...haha...which he did over 2 hours of music...it was like he was playing in our living room...god that was great...John and I still talk about it to this day...Please MORE Paul Kelly...
Cool story. Thank You for sharing it.
Does anyone else hear Smashing Pumpkins' "Perfect" here? Eerily similar. Maybe too similar.
Agreed!!
A fatty? Whatever it is, it's turning him blue.
Looking at it closer, I think it's a pea-shooter aimed at the girl's butt.
Good Schiit man! GOOD TUNE! PS: it is the blue gels in the stage lighting, turning him blue!

Sadly, the illness seems to be affecting your hearing.

Ha....well that makes about 3 of us currently who think this. It seems most people who posted 'hear' a different song though....
Couldna' said it better!
This guy is prob the best Aussie songster ever.
'Do yourself a favour' and listen to his vast body of work!
Amen Brother! I love PK. It's a crime that he doesn't get much airplay in the US, but we're lucky that he tours the US at least once a year. If only we got the A-Z shows that you get! (Downloads on his website are a nice substitute!)
