I've seen him twice in the past year in San Francisco (he played the Palace of Fine Arts and it was completely sold-out, and there was such a demand that he returned to the same venue several months later). He's great live, and has a fantastic band with him also.

You lucky duck. I wish I could have been there too!

Really like the low bass notes in here.

Me too!

Lets dig deeper: time for some Viola plots! <g>

As of right now, there are 8 ratings on this song, all of them between 6 and 8. Rare that the min and max ratings on RP actually say something useful... Bill needs to replace min/max with standard deviation, with a link to a histogram... Hm, this is growing on me. I think I'm changing my 7 to an 8!

first time I gave a 1, really hate this kind of uninspiring and generic guitar music, just like Gipsy Kings, and the clapping oh my. really cannot understand the average rating here, normally I mostly agree. I guess taste is a unique miracle 😉

I confess that I'm at a lose to understand the need to make negative comments about someone's musical creations. I may not "get" everything I hear and I might "PSD" but I appreciate that others do like what I might not.
Great technique

Jesse Cook may sound a lot like Ottmar Liebert on this song, but that's not a bad thing.  I like Ottmar Liebert.

I'd never heard of this artist before, but I'm curious to hear more from him.

Check, check and check!

Returning to San Francisco in October! Already sold-out (not surprised).
Still rates that 10 I gave it years ago!
Outstanding imo

Maybe it's because I saw Mamma Mia last night (..do I admit that on the RP pages..?) but there's a section here that reminds me of Money money money - same chord sequence....

Part of the chord progression and melody sounds more similar to that of ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You", than it does "Money, Money, Money", but it's a traditional progression, especially in flamenco-style music.
I Love the purring of the bass!!! {#Bananajam}
Love me some Jesse!  Paradise is paradise today!

Nice! I think he opened for Big Head Todd & The Monsters under The Arch in St. Louis one fabulous summer night a decade or so ago.
I was like... hm need to login to give Rodrigo and Gabriela the usual 9-10...
shame on me

Still love this song! Rattle and burn for sure. Solid 8 all the way.
Jesse Cook may sound a lot like Ottmar Liebert on this song, but that's not a bad thing.  I like Ottmar Liebert.

According to the CD cover...he is one helluva one - legged guitarist. Duh! {#Bananajam}
So much of this Spanish-flamenco whatever
musical subgenre sounds alike. But so much of it has superior musicianship that it's hard to dislike it. Cook is pure bliss.
How bout something from the Gypsy Kings?
I'd disagree actually.  When you listen to all of Jesse's work it's clear he's studied, played with and learned from musicians around the world.  All of those influences are not necessarily featured on every song, but he is not a clone of any one master.   I've seen him live a copule of times and he shares his excitement of travelling the world and working with musicians from many different cultures.

Quite Likeable, but another Ottmar Liebert clone.

Rumba Flamenca ... jo' macho, ni mar que'ta! {#Cheers}
Smokin'!
When flamenco rocks, it rocks big time.
Very nice.  Solid 8.
like this one might have to move it up next time I hear it, guitar sounded good

Maybe it's because I saw Mamma Mia last night (..do I admit that on the RP pages..?) but there's a section here that reminds me of Money money money - same chord sequence....

Jesse Cook is such a talent...love it...

purty cool but sounds like what Al Dimeola left hanging
I like this, but all I can think of is the theme song to Bourne Identity...

Bill, please also include a breif description of the control group. ;-) like the song
I'm very glad we now have histograms! And that Bill's still playing this great tune!
Quite Likeable, but another Ottmar Liebert clone.
I'm hearing a Supergrass melody in there... Despite that this is a nice little track!

I guess that's what they call "smooth jazz" nowadays so boring!
Passion is what this is all about...Chair dancing now!

He's a pretty good guitarist, but most of his songs sound exactly the same.
very cool. would love to see this guy live
More than Gypsy Kings, it reminds me a lot of Strunz & Farah...

I, too, thought this was the Gypsy Kings. Nice stuff!
Me too. And that's a good thing!
Some really nice guitar playing here.
Tidy !
Really like this song, one of my favorite!!

I'd like to see some way for the ratings to include the "I'm sick of this one" factor so I don't have to give low ratings to songs I actually like (or liked) due to overplay elsewhere.
This is a very gorgeous and well done music... Mixing up ryhtm and acoustic guitar, it just comes out something beautiful
they are even better at live! great artist
I, too, thought this was the Gypsy Kings. Nice stuff!
definately thought i clicked on gypsy kings...

I was gonna be first but I got caught up in his web site. Lots of good samples of his music there. I just might have to buy a CD or two.
Thought this was the Gypsy Kings??
I'm finally the first....
