I wanna know how it feels to be kissed
Cold chills running up and down my spine
I wanna know how it feels to be talked to
Until words drive me stoned out my mind

I know how it feels to be lonely
I know how it feels to be blue
Come and show me how it feels to really be loved
And I spend my time loving you

I wanna know how it feels to be needed
I wanna know by the end of the night
I wanna know how it feels to have a girl
Who loves me and treats me just right

I know how it feels to be cheated on
I know how it feels to be blue
Come and show me how it feels to really be loved
And I spend my time loving you

Well I know there's pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
That was such a long time ago
Come and show me how it feels to really be loved
And I won't be blue anymore

Hold on, baby hold on.
Love me, try love me
I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know how it feels
To be loved

Nope. He is incredibly talented.

I was lucky to see Derek play with the Allman Bros. one night at the Woodlands, near Houston. He is the nephew to Butch Trucks, Allman Bros. drummer. I think it was Butch that (jokingly) commented that they will have to cut the show short because Derek's bedtime.  It was an awesome show! I remember they started a teaser "Franklins Tower" by the GD.
I'd probably like this a bit more if his voice didn't sound like 6am after a entire bottle of Jack and 2 packs of unfiltered Camels...

I actually feel sorry for him to be expected to take the place of both Duane and Dickey.  No wonder he's concentrating on other ventures (like this and Tedeschi/Trucks) now.

Check out the Allman Betts Band. It's Gregg's son Devon and Dickey's son Duane, plus five more (including Berry Oakley Jr, son of Sr. that was bassist for Allman Brothers Band). I haven't heard much, but was pleased and impressed. Very credible. Had planned to see them here in town in 3 weeks, but now rescheduled for a year later. Never got to see ABB, so I was really wanting to see these guys. I'll try to review then, if I remember.

I'd pay to see you say that to his face.....you'd have one helluva southern boy ass-whuppin coming!!

A solid 10
I am so glad to see Trucks "pick up the ball", so to speak, from his familial ties to the Allman bro's. I bet Uncle Butch is proud! Sounds awesome!!

Seen Derek with Susan Tedeschi and will tell all the haters that boys a hot picker!

Have also seen him, and yes, the boy can play. He's developed his own style, and it's just far enough out of the Southern rock mainstream to be grating to many people. I get that.  With as many people as he puts on stage with him and Susan, you'd think at least one of them could sing better than him. Dickie and Duane had a very "sweet" sound coming out of their guitars. Derek's is brassy and jarring.   Personal taste and style, I guess.  A lot of strong talent on the stage, but the whole seems less than the sum of the parts. IMHO. Music is personal...

I realize Derek is probably following his heart as a guitar player. However,  like Boz Scaggs, I just can't stand to listen to the notes that come from them.
Sorry Guys !!
I've seen some great artists who want to be Derek Trucks.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Great !!!!!! Thanks Bill und Rebecca {#Bananajam}{#Dancingbanana}
i really want to like derek. but it sounds like a technical duane or dickey much like many can play hendrix note for note and sound but still lack the phrasing and overall  . . .

ironically hendrix tried to emulate buddy guy but in the process it became his, so back to derek - go for it. closest thing to the bros.
Love this song!

Check out the new Tedeschi Trucks Band album Let Me Get By.  You'll dig it.

Saw them this summer headlining a triple bill of North Mississippi All-Stars and Los Lobos and TTB.  Three awesome groups that know how to play live.

miss you so much, Cynaera...

Open invitation to Derek:

Please come and tour the midwest. Outdoor venue preferred...under the moonlight and stars.

The hippie-redneck audience will greatly appreciate your music.
Thank god for Derek.

One of the few that understands RnR guitar. Which is a dying art. Can anybody say "jazz"?

Now, if only her would tour a little more...in the Midwest. With or without his wife.

another of those guys you hear a few cords and can identify by guitar alone.
fist time I heard Tedeschi Trucks Band I thought "Who's the woman singing with Derek?"
Oh, it's his wife.
Also great stuff.

I'm really likin' this guy!

I just gave Derek and this piece a raise. Definitely an impressive ax man, as if I needed further proof of that after seeing him play with Santana 3-4 years back. {#Bananajam}
