I've been driving all night
On a road to nowhere
With the devils convoy, black smoke upon my tracks
Girl, I hardly knew you
But I could never fool you
You was always sitting still
While the world raced to its grave

When the morning breaks
I've been driving wide awake
Cause I've been running so long
Can't recall what it means to stay
Cause I let you slip away like water right through my hands
Oh baby, your love's like rain in a desert to a thirsty man
Thirsty man

You know I've seen the mountains
And the flatlands too
I've seen all these city streets
But I still go out searching for you
Now in the captain's chamber
There's a ball and chain
You can run for a million miles but you'll never outrun your name

When the morning breaks
I've been driving wide awake
Cause I've been running so long
I can't recall what it means to stay

And all the children sing
And all the old men sing
It's better to love and lose
Than to gain a world on a string

Cause I let you slip away
Like water right through my hands
Oh baby, your love's like rain in a desert to a thirsty man
Yeah, thirsty man

When the morning breaks
I've been driving wide awake
Cause I've been running so long
Can't recall what it means to stay
Cause I let you slip away like water right through my hands
Oh honey, your love's like rain in a desert to a thirsty man
Yeah, thirsty man

Actually a capacitor is a Kondensator.  Definitely a blitzen trapper!  :-)

Hello, I'm from Germany, the German word for "capicitor" is what you call a condenser. Blitzen Trapper´s german meaning is in Englich "Lightning Trappers".
eng. capicitor = ger. Kondensator
eng. Blitzen Trapper = ger. Blitz Trapper (that´s what it sound like).
eng. Lightning = ger. Blitz.  Blitzen we say in germany when you drive into a radar control. And there is often a lightning with it!

Hope you are not worried

The slideshow needs to stop showing pictures of beer, it's too early here on the East Coast for that!

Similar riff to Moving In Stereo
Is there a little Strawberry Letter 23 in this?

That's fantastic.  I need to start putting that on the wiring diagrams.
Any transition from the B52s is a good one
Im curious to know if this song is rated high compared to other B52 songs or other songs in general.
Nice transition there from the B-52's "Planet Claire" :)
Gosh Dang Snap it Bill and Rebecca----I keep adding great tunes to  My Favorites from you two!   Love RP  Thanks B and R.  Looks like you both need hair cuts as bad as we do!  Go!
Loving this. Might be good in a set list also containing Neil Young's Devil's Sidewalk track from Greendale. But the breaks between verses are something totally other, and really break this song out. Love new stuff, and it's a bonus when it invokes other great tracks.

Rad
Bit o Doors riff there?
Got turned on to these guys when local NPR station (WUKY, Lexington, KY) played "Shine On" a few times. I think it got some FM airplay - AAA or whatever they call that nowadays.  Everyone seems to be trying to make comparisons; I find them to have a rather unique sound. Bought a couple of their albums.

Other really good tracks to check out are "Furr" and "Black River Killer", both on "Furr".

Totally agree, was listening and trying to recall what it sounded like.

Thirsty Man drinks blood like lemonade.
Damn cool, a mighty groove with great feel.

Hmm, I could rather fancy a kebab now ;-)

A bit of linguistic trivia - if you "tek a donner" in Glasgow, you're going for a walk.

hahahaha, I love the hills of Kentucky and its music. I generally don't like banjo loops either but thats another whole thing.

Overall pace and mood, plus the plinking style of the guitar.  Upon a couple more listens, I do think there is more going on here than I first heard.

Ha, I can totally see this as being from the Dead.  I have liked it every time I have heard it, I was not a big dead fan but it does fit.

Hearing Dylan all over this. Like it a lot.

What a great song. I don't know how RP does it, but I've consistently heard new-to-me music on Radio Paraíso for years.
I'm liking this.
One hit wonder, I guess. This is a mess. Maybe it'll grow on me. 5
Hey, Blitzen Trapper! I wondered what they were up to; glad to hear some new stuff.
