Unlock my love
And set me free
Come fill me up
With ecstasy

Surround my heartbeat
With your fingertips
Unbound my feet
Untie my wrists

Come in to my world
Of loneliness
And wickedness
And bitterness
Unlock my love

Unsuffer me
Take away the pain
Unbruise, unbloody
Wash away the stain
Anoint my head
With your sweet kiss
My joy is dead
I long for bliss

I long for knowledge
Whisper in my ear
Undo my logic, undo my fear
Unsuffer me

Unlock my love
And set me free
Come fill me up
With ecstasy
Unsuffer me
Take away the pain
Unbruise, unbloody
Wash away the stain

Surround my heartbeat
With your fingertips
Unbound my feet
Untie my wrists

Come in to my world
Of loneliness
And wickedness
And bitterness
Anoint my head
With your sweet kiss
My joy is dead
I long for bliss

I long for knowledge
Whisper in my ear
Undo my logic, undo my fear
Unsuffer me

Three and a half years later, I realise what a fool I've been - this is Lucinda at her unbearably heart-tearing best. So good, it hurts.  (Stand by the Oasis comment though - but in a good way.)

If you just double the speed, you'll find that this is actually Oasis.  And it gets it over with in half the time.

You should hear this tune live!
Wow. Folks really don't like this one. I like it better than that, being a big ol' Lucinda fan, but must admit that if I had to chose a song from this record, I would have chosen the beautiful title cut.

shivaz!
Oh my God, this is awful. Did she record this after a booze and H fest? Before I looked, I thought Courtney Love was croaking something. It pains me to say these things, as I consider myself a great admirer of Lucinda's work. But every element of this song is grade Z: that amateurish guitar rumble, the lazy drumming, the who-cares string section. Did I mention her voice?

Mostly horrible.
Love Lucinda but this song just misses something. Badassed guitar work.
Ouch. Well, it sure as hell beats Radiohead. I gave it a seven cause I always pity the underdog.
This song was insufferable, morbid, dark. And not in a good way, either.
Wow...to let a man bring you to that level. Grow some stones, girl!
Need meds now! Bukowski spirit descending.
Ya Know....If I was drunk in some alley somewhere panhandling for spare change and it was snowing and I had no shoes, I might be able to get into this....but please...put me and this girl out of her misery. Even in my pessimistic state of mind...I hate this....
It's really too bad. Really.
Undo this song.
:grim:
She should really go to a doctor about that sore throat.
Ricky Lee Jones on downs? Someone got their thumb on the turntable?
More from this CD on the LRC.

I'd like to see it drop to at least a 2!

I cant stand her voice ... its like her vocal accents are fake or something ... she grates me in ways that only my X-wife could do... maybe they are both the spawn of Satan ... its the only explination

That's our Lucinda.

This seems to have the same kind of vibe as the Essence CD.
Local press buzz says it's her best effort yet, and loaded with melancholy...Just came out a week ago or so...
This woman sounds like a real mess.
Just bought this. Lucinda sounds like the singer who's sung in too many bars. I haven't decided how much I like it. I never like her albums at first, but they always grow on me.
when I start out-right laughing at the voice-lyrics combo... that's a bad sign.
