Greetings from a Russian Soul to all!
(In the name of Romanticism, which was the Progressive Rock that derived from Baroque, the original Rock...)...be sure to turn up the volume!
You'd be surprised how many don't. Polling in Russia is difficult, and some of Putin's popularity may have dissolved recently... but it remains very high....70%-90% approval ratings by many estimates. Rural areas and small towns (which is a lot in an 11-time zone country) have very strong support for him.
I suspect that those are not the Russians who are listening to Radio Paradise.

Same folks support _____ in the US of A. Imagine that.
Pretty sure they already have a clue or two about that.

We have quite a few loyal listeners in Russia. I donât hear from them as much these days as Iâve once did, which is sad, but what I do hear makes it clear that a LOT of Russians are not at all supportive of their ologarchy & their asshat-in-chief.
I like the idea of being part of the support system that helps them to tolerate their version of modern life. And I like the idea of allowing their voices to be heard on RP.
I do NOT like the idea that weâre all divided into two camps: those allowed to speak and those who are not.
Silencing an entire language, an entire culture, including lots of RP listeners youâd enjoy having a beer or coffee with?
Essentially because of the behavior of one man?
I say no way.
And I'll add this: if the whole world adopts standards like that, things could get, uhhh, awkward, y'know...
exactly
drawing a distinction between a dictator (political ruler) and the people suffering under his thumb
Two years of full-scale invasion in the Ukraine. All civilized world is getting Russians out of sport and other events. Do we really need to hear Russian language greetings in RP?
