Want you to rock me baby, rock me all night long
Want you to rock me baby, rock me all night long
Well I want you to rock me baby, like my back ain't got no bones

Sun goin' down, the moon begin to rise
Sun goin' down, the moon begin to rise
Well I want you to rock me baby, till you make me satisfied

See me comin', run get your rockin' chair
See me comin', run get your rockin' chair
Well you know I ain't no stranger, you know I used to live right here

Want you to roll me, like I roll a wagon wheel
Want you to roll me, like I roll a wagon wheel
You know I want you to roll me over, you know how good that makes me feel

Rock me easy, rock your baby slow
Rock me easy, rock your baby slow
Well you know I want you to rock me so easy, till I don't wanna rock no more

Put your arms around me, like a circle around the sun
Put your arms around me, like a circle around the sun
I want you to call, call me daddy, let me lay down in your arms

That's what I came to find out.
Easiest 10 so far today.
Heard this on mushrooms one time, WOW!!!!

It really scratched an itch!
Love it! Gots what Mr. Mojo Risin used (and he told us yes he did where he got it!) all over it! Ya gotta roll, roll, roll, gotta thrill my soul, ya gotta eachakoocha kawkawkaw, chaw chaw chaw, gotta eacha nooda bee bop a lula, ALL RIGHT... Blues is often my favorite color!
"raining down Delta beatitude".
Excellent iconic song that influenced Rock in its pure essence.
I always loved this album and its album cover. A watercolor portrait by my teacher Philip Hays, and the cover design by Paula Scher!
...alternate expression here too https://sinistersaladmusikal.f...
Johnny Winters production and guitar
How can ya go wrong?
ICONIC!!!!  GREAT TUNE!!!!!

Now what does he mean by "rock me all night long"?

Is there a "hoochie coochie" involved?

Or maybe a "wang dang doodle"?

The rock me part I get, its the "roll me like an wagon wheel" I am not to sure about.

Where do you think the 'rock' in 'rock and roll' came from?
Had this vinyl. He and Johnny were so good together!

This is an OLD blues song.  Rock and Roll used to be slang for doin the nasty.

Oh lawdy Mr. Waters!!
Who on harp? Little Walter? James Cotton?
We performed these songs & at 69 years old, i still dig the shit out of them, man!

...i guess when performed these songs for the people who care about stuff >way more important in those days< &  we always had  a great time doing it for the real people:

I don't think any of those people, many down on their luck, to say the least, give one sweet shit about what you stinking think...

Why don't you offer some constructive comment or shutup or would that be

Managed to see Muddy Waters at Fry Foggles in London, Ontario several times in 1974-75.

That was the MDA period for me.  We danced like fiends.

Yeah rdo, you and I don't always agree on the music, but as aforementioned, you are one of the people commenting on these boards that I seek out; Always an entertaining read, point of view, or commentary.
For me, the world's a lesser place for Muddy's absence.  But greatness like this song lives on.  Play the blues, Muddy.

I think most people rate this song highly because they think they're "supposed to" like this. Bleh, boring and uninspiring. Geez that harmonica playing alone is simply awful.

I will second that!  I saw him in 78 or 79, memory is a bit fuzzy on the dates.  He just sat on his stool and jammed.

Well, the liner notes credit Big Walter Horton, not Little Walter Jacobs, both of whom incidentally co-authored a book about diatonic blues harp, Sourcebook of Little Walter/Big Walter Licks for Blues Harmonica, published by Centerstream. Don'cha love this site?

This is great. I think I like blues as much as I dislike so-called "soul" music. One extreme like and one extreme dislike. Muddy Waters may be the avatar or the epitome. Whaddaya think?

Call me picky, but I insist any front line instrument - save a triangle - have more than the same two notes played over and over. The harmonica in this rendition seems to have gotten stuck or gypped. It just sucked my brain out through my ear. Waaaaa-aaaaa-aaa-aaaa, etc.....
Somebody here seriously needs to have their mojo in the upright and working position. I know some people; you can have that looked at professionally.
Yes'm, ROCK ME, baby! Muddy's the master, but loved hearing Hot Tuna play this recently in concert (Truckee, CA). See https://www.ca-dreaming.com/HotTuna

Well, Diane it's like this: This is the Blues, if you don't like it then you don't like the Blues, that's all there is to it. Now as far as just two notes on the blues harp (harmonica), better take a closer hear. There's a bit more than two. If you want to complain about harmonica listen to Alanis Morisette's playing, now that's painfull! (pimp) 8)

I would not call you picky, but ignorant with an extraordinaire lack of sensibility. but that is just me...
