Where you going, my friend?
Have you forgotten when
There was a time filled with hope instead of fear that's in your heart
There was a time when life was simple and innocent to start
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Where you going, my friend?
Have you forgotten when
There was a time when false information wasn't so rampant in the sphere
There was a time when you weren't questioning everything you hear
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Constantly being advertised, your life commercialized and disguised
As happiness in pills and potions, fancy threads and cars in motion
Hypnotized by gilded lies to line the pockets of so few
While hungry politicians feed bullshit to the masses
To ensure their statuses and further divide the classes
Uh-huh
And you were born with a voice so open up and speak your mind
Raise consciousness and elevate how we all relate don't hesitate
No need to be better or smarter than anybody else
Leave judgement at the door for others and yourself
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
Big Brother's watching you and trying to sell you something new
And I just want to take away take away the blues
Big Brother's watching you and trying to sell you something new
And I just want to take away take away the blues
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
Revolution
Revolution
Revolution
Revolution
When I get up, oh, I get up in the morning
All I really want is the truth
Oh, when I open my eyes and I get up in the morning
All I really need is the truth
You were born with a voice so open up and speak your mind
Raise consciousness and elevate how we all relate don't hesitate
No need to be better or smarter than anybody else
Leave judgement at the door for others and yourself
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
When I get up, oh, I get up in the morning
All I really want is the truth
Oh, when I open my eyes and I get up in the morning
All I really need is the truth
Revolution
Revolution

The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind
The revolution is in your mind

First hearing this. Pleasantly surprised.
there's a Jefferson Airplane vibe.

Boring lyrics that sound like a theme song for The Proud Boys.

Pretty much the opposite of what the Proud Boys stand for.  But several of their leaders will now have plenty of time to contemplate it when they are in prison.
It's a healthy 1

Anyone know if this is the same "Heartless Bastards" that backed James McMurtry on his Live in Aught Three release?

I had wondered this for years but was never able to confirm 'til now...Just found on thevogue.com:

"He performs as James McMurtry And The Heartless Bastards with veteran bandmates and rhythm section Darren Hess and Ronnie Johnson (not to be confused with the Cincinnati, OH, band Heartless Bastards)."

...Both great bands, in my opinion!

Vague or not so vague lyrics-and-tempo echoes of It's Alright Ma I'm Only Bleeding, by some guy named Bob.
Hey, it's OK to emulate and paint a homage.  We. Need.  All.  The.  Reminders. We. Can. Get.
Anyone know if this is the same "Heartless Bastards" that backed James McMurtry on his Live in Aught Three release?

  i get this.
Saw these guys at a tiny venue in DC just over a week ago - Union Stage. Fun show - they did a cover of Zevon’s Lawyers, Guns, and Money!

Oh, come on. I've heard worse.
Profound and pertinent words for these times.
Worst track I’ve ever heard on RP!
Dear Haters - LEAVE JUDGEMENT AT THE DOOR YOU STUPID GITS…. The revolution is IN YOUR MIND. If you don’t like it - GTFO
Evry time I hear this song I want to turn off radio paradise and not listen any music for the whole day. And it`s much worse than that
What a lovely, unusual song! Really grabbed my attention.

The album cover is a rainbow ribbon. Wouldn't it be great if the Proud Boys were that kind of proud?
Leave judgement at the door, for others and yourself... if you can't get behind that then why TF are you here??   no really... I'm serious...
I get strong Rodriguez Cold Fact vibes from this tune
Anyone else think this was Robet Plant for quick minute?
Yes.....boring!
More like THE REPETITION IS IN MY MIND….and please get it out

So glad to see HB on RP! But, their newer stuff isn’t my favorite… just yet. *check out The Mountain or some more of there first few albums: solid rock for sure!

Video for "High Line" is a classic.
"Parted Ways" was released a month after a personal break-up, and is always on my rotation !

It's not that bad, especially when you understand the words

There's really nothing to understand. The 60s and 70s wrote some of the best protest songs ever, this song is poorly thought out. Any protest song that is confusing is annoying. It's important to easily understand political messaging of any sort. Despots have built fortunes and immense power from unclear messaging.

You gotta listen to their whole catalog. "Sway", "High Line", and the whole first CD !

This song is a slow-burner, for sure...Love these guys!  Saw them back in April in Royal Oak, MI, opening for the Flaming Lips.  This was Heartless Bastards' first song that night and kicked off the evening just perfectly.  If you have a chance to see them live, do it!

Saw them in Chicago in '15, and will agree that they are a good show. I've been a fan since their first album!
This song gets my attention at the start and then abuses the privilege. "The revelation is your mind" What? and then there's the rest of the lyrics along with the monotone singing, and, and, and ...

What do the ratings have to do with America, or "it's humorless nature"?

REVOLUTION!!!

The last time I looked, it seemed to me that revolutions are based on judgement.

Yeah?  There is now...
Wow.  So many negative comments.  I kinda like this.
BUT, The Revolution will just not be televised!
Wow! I haven't heard this band before. Do like!
can't help but think of big pharma while listening to this tune..vaccinate , inoculate..capitulate or else.   just give me some truth !
The vocalist reminds me of the guy who sings for I Am Kloot.

(Please take note of this, ye who complain that RP listeners are always comparing female singers to other female singers, and somehow are therefore misogynists. )

This Voice, if you remember, sounds like Rodriguez,
the spirit also .

Thank you for a new favorit.

Too many revolutions........ I'm getting dizzy

You should try it here in the UK.. The crab bucket is positively brimming with fun and games.

This sounds like something from San Francisco around 1967
Not again ...
Tiresome - doesn't need to be in heavy rotation. (Oh, by the way - the revolution will be monetized.)
The ratings for this song puts the humorless nature of America on flaming display, a 10!
reminds me of Dylan
Hearing a lot of Patti Smith in this. What goes around...
Too many revolutions........ I'm getting dizzy
An agenda
I have never once used the "skip" button until I heard this song.  I have not rated any song on RP less than 5 until I heard this song.  New experiences abound at RP!
So glad to see HB on RP! But, their newer stuff isn’t my favorite… just yet. *check out The Mountain or some more of there first few albums: solid rock for sure!

This does not remind me of the Proud Boys at all.
Just gimme some TRUTH.

So, wanting the truth is a subversive act, eh? Hmm.
Fantastic band. I love Ms Wennertstrom’s vocal style.

Yeh, for me this album really falls flat compared to Arrow, and Mountain for that matter too.

Right on Bill! Finally some Heartless Bastards!   How about some older stuff too!  Arrow?

I'd say your comment is boring, but it's just partisanal stupidity.
Are we revolting yet!?
An amalgam of triteness.
Boring lyrics that sound like a theme song for The Proud Boys.

First time for me (not unusual since I started listening to RP). I kinda like the way the complex lyrics are woven around the music. I like the unusual vocal sound, as well. An artist I'll listen for in the future.
There was no revolution in my mind when I got up this morning and turned on Radio Paradise.
