Hmm, yeah
Oh, yeah
Hmm, yeah, yeah
My sweet Lord, mm, my Lord
My sweet Lord, I really wanna see you
I really wanna see you
I really wanna see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord
My sweet Lord, oh, my Lord
My sweet Lord, I really wanna know you
I really wanna go with you
I really wanna show you, Lord
That it won't take long, my Lord (hallelujah)
My sweet Lord (hallelujah), oh, my Lord (hallelujah)
My sweet Lord (hallelujah), I really wanna see you
I really wanna see you, I really wanna see you
I really wanna see you, but it takes so long, my Lord (hallelujah)

Must say I never expected that! Quite nice, and just goes to show that anything done in Reggae makes you smile, and that's a good thing.

I really disagree with this logic. Just because a song is a cover or remake doesn't mean it is lazy. Take "All Along the Watchtower" or "Hound Dog" as examples. Both originals are excellent, but when Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley covered them and put their own spins on the songs, they gained a new level of notoriety and a whole new audience that may not have heard the originals were introduced to them. We all stand on the the shoulders of the giants that came before us.
I'll add Me and Bobbie McGee, Hallelujah, Nothing Compares 2 U, Blinded by the Light, Cocaine, Call Me The Breeze, and Hurt. And an endless list of blues and folk songs that morphed over decades.

Solid beat. Nice vocal tone. Excellent “riddim”.
More a mimic than a cover.

A respectful and enjoyable cover of a classic…why not?
All it takes is a reggae beat? That’s it? Not a winner for me

Maybe on a cruise ship, but nowhere else.

So so good!
This is OK but why? The original is classic.
Why?
Most excellent!
Great loping vibe. Easy to dance to.

I wonder if he paid royalties to the Chiffons' publisher?
Sure, why not!
