Bite chunks out of me
You're a shark and I'm swimming
My heart still thumps as I bleed
And all your friends come sniffing

Triangles are my favorite shape
Three points where two lines meet
Toe to toe, back to back, let's go, my love it's very late
'Til moming comes, let's tessellate

Go alone my flower
And keep my whole lovely you
Wild green stones alone my lover
And keep us on my heart

Three guns and one goes off
One's empty, one's not quick enough
One bum, one red, one grin
Search the graves while the camera spins

Chunks of you will sink down to seals
Blubber rich in mouming, they'll nosh you up
Yes, they'll nosh the love away but it's fair to say
You will still haunt me

Triangles are my favorite shape
Three points where two lines meet
Toe to toe, back to back, let's go my love it's very late
'Til moming comes, let's tessellate

Be very very careful with current usage of this word........
This song is inane and silly but it's raw power and flawless execution overwhelms my incredulity.

i love it
One of my regrets, now that I have retired from teaching, is that I did not have this song on my playlist during my teaching days.  What a great tune this would have been to rock a Grade 7 math class for a geometry lesson!!
nice
I finally have a copy of this song on CD!  Got the limited edition pressing used from an eBay seller in Australia...https://www.discogs.com/alt-J-An-Awesome-Wave/release/4233132.
Let's not intubate.

I had not caught that but now that is all I can hear. Tom Wilson, with Junkhouse and all his others bands/ solo is one of those Canadian treasures!

Okay, Garyalex, I was grinning at your post and saw NoisyMiner seemed to know something I didn't. I Googled.... A tessellation is a real thing!
an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together, especially of polygons in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping.

I'm sure we've all tessellated a time or two in our lives....

This is my favorite version of this song. I was disappointed it wasn't on their album.  The album version is okay, but not as fabulous as this. So glad we get to hear it here.

Despise remixes.
Not a band that hit my radar in the UK - excellent stuff

When I listen to college radio, it's like when I eat a bowl of Fruit Loops.   It tastes super great for a bit, and I'm like, Why did I ever stop eating Fruit Loops?  But, lo and behold, before the box is done I am dumping it into the waste basket.  Its flavor lasts about two bowls.  That's college radio.

One cannot subsist on Fruit Loops alone, granted, but why would one toss the box into the bin? 1, that's waste; 2, one might crave for some more before it spoils (do seal the bag properly
); 3, what if you get the munchies for something sweet and can't be arsed baking?

Seriously though, I really like this tune. Has me chair or kitchen dancing every time! And the title reminds me of Marvel's Cosmic Cube. I know it's actually called the Tesseract, but that's what Tessellate reminds me of. I can just imagine Loki and Thor dancing to that tune!

The worst with the above is that I'm neither stone nor drunk as I'm writing this. Just plain stupid without any chemical help.
Weird, refreshing, more alt-J
I have mixed feelings about Alt-J. Some songs I like, many I don't. But I got a new appreciation for them last night watching their Tiny Desk Concerts

I heard this song when I first discovered RP and it sealed the deal for me with this great station!
so Amazing! My side of the planet is dark and at some point I must sleep, but not now!
Let's escalate.
tessellate/ˈtɛsəleɪt/verb

1. decorate (a floor or pavement) with mosaics.

2. cover (a plane surface) by repeated use of a single shape, without gaps or overlapping.

Is this the equivalent of Alt-J trying to morph a soundscape into a physical plane?

Nice concept.
I often wonder how hard is it to write a song when all some "musicians" do is repeat the same bars or verses over and over and over?
Can't get enough of this.  Hypnotic.
much prefer the original version
Another gem I would never have heard if it weren't for RP. The first time I heard it I didn't know what "tessellate" meant, but good god this song made me want to do it. {#Roflol}

Let's triangulate.
This sounds like something Golden Earring would have done in the 70's.
There's a chance I may have just done a little booty dance in my office...

I have heard a few Alt-J songs that I do like before they've been remixed; Every Other Freckle is cool....and one called Pine?

And the youngster in me wonders if I were an actual youngster right now; Is this the music I'd be listening to currently? Probably...yeah....

Long Live RP!!

I disagree but to each his/her own.
My favorite cut from a great album.

A funny story:  Because, thanks to RP, I've been an Alt-J fan for years and likewise my 18-year old son has been a super lucky kid and gotten to hear them for all those years too thanks to my being in control of the stereo (when I'm home).  For quite a while, he wasn't too impressed with Alt-J, and then about a year ago he came home from school one day and sought out my Alt-J disc — turns out his homies are all hip to Alt-J, and now so is he and he's unleashing some of their other cuts on them!

Long live RP; your mission to spread the sweet sounds must carry on!
Makes my brain hurt.

Possibly my favourite mix track from an "Awesome" album ...
9<10 !!!
Love this mix! It maintains the sound of Alt-J, but still has the perfect customised touch.
Awesome groove on this cut!  9 for now, maybe lower later if/when I'm sick of it
somehow brings to my mind Joan Jett  I dig Rock and Roll   must be the guitar
I was just thinking about this song last night.
This mix is far superior to the original.

The band otherwise known to non hipsters as 0394, Alt+X.
Definitely one of the best songs heard on RP. 10!!!
great band - great song and I nerver heard hem Before, will search on Spotify for more
Is this the sound track to Vikings?
they dont make 'em like this anymore.!    long debate with self resulted in a 10!    this track on RP helped me become a firm fan and see them live.  What a band, what a sound, first cd ive actually purchased since KID-A.

"Triangles are my favorite shape".

Alt-J on a Mac produces: ∆

That's a Delta, the Greek letter D. Hopefully it will also show up on other platforms, dunno.

(Although most Mac people refer to that key as Option. Damn keyboard hipsters. :-) )

Hmm, something I haven't heard before.
Once again, thanks Bill for introducing me to something new

Took some effort but I found a YouTube of this particular Broadbandits Afro Mix track and following that found a free converter so as to be able to convert the YouTube source to a downloadable .mp3. Now about actually purchasing this track...um. uhh, er...hey, look over there, is that a UFO?
Why do people repeat what they have commented ?....do they think that their comments are made more interesting or visible through repetition?....i find it intensely irritating and see it nowhere else....i wish someone would do something about it....is there an editor ?
It's just pop, but it is cool.

The original is slightly more cool. Very nice.

What? That could vaguely apply to any polygon.

I have read it is actually a reference to a ménage à trois, which still seems imprecise.

I'm taking it in the spirit of poetic license.

Triangles are specified from among polygons by the "three". :)
This song, or perhaps rather, this mix... Its just all over the place.
I honestly don't know what to think of it. Lol
