Yep you can retrieve data by yourself. There are programs to do that. For example Ipod File Manager
I used it few times.
But there is a sad news. I'm not sure but most of these programs work with NTFS and FAT32 files systems. I recently tried to find something that would work with ext4 but I was unsuccessful. So, because OS X is using HFS+ file system there could be problem with software. But I can't believe that they don't exist. 
To sum up try to google "recovering iPod transfer to win10" or find program for recovering data that can work with ipod and win10 transfer.

But this post is 4 years old. "1-click copied all the music....to my computer". See if you can find this so-called "1-click copied" option.

Edit: I drag music files from Windows Explorer and drop them into my iPod throug iTunes. The thing is can you copy your iPod files to your PC HD, because if you can do that, your problem is solved.

First off, I'm about as tech savvy as my last dog. My Mac recently bit the dust and I decided to go with a Windows 10 PC this time around. All my music is stuck on the old Mac which is dead. I do however have my library on my Ipod. Problem is I guess the Ipod was formatted in Mac and I can't get the darn thing to sync up with Itunes downloaded in Windows. I've tried a Google search and have had no luck so far. Does any body know the way to perform this task?
