I can hear her heart beat from a thousand miles
And the heaven opens everytime she smiles
And when I come to her that's where I belong
Yet I run into her like a river's song

She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

She's got a fine sense of humour when I'm feeling low down
And when I come to her when the sun goes down
Take away my trouble, take away my grief
Take away my heartache in the night like a theif

She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

And I need her in the daytime
I need her
And I need her in the night
I need her
And I want to throw my arms around her
I need her
And kiss and hug her kiss and hug her tight

And when I'm returning from so far away
Gives me some sweet lovin' brightens up my day
Yet it makes me righteous, yes it makes me whole
Yet it makes me mellow down into my soul

She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

Here's a version that I think is even better, with Ray Charles and The Man  :-)
Unfortunately, this song always reminds me of the countless 80s/90s movies that decided "yeah, we also need to use this song during the love scene!"  It pretty much turned into a filmwriting stereotype.

"Crazy Love" has featured in several movies including:
- She's Having a Baby (1988)
- Always (1989)
- Leaving Normal (1992)
- Jason's Lyric (1994)
- When a Man Loves a Woman (1994)
- Phenomenon (as covered by Aaron Neville and Robbie Robertson), (1996) starring John Travolta

Gave it a 9, it's pretty near a perfect song.  Couldn't quite consider "Godlike" because Van is such a little pukestocking. But there ya go.

Pukestocking may or may not be a word, but I won't forget it or the images it provoked, and I might just use it.  I don't know Van personally, but it is sad to think he has been likened to a pukestocking, and a little one at that. But there ya go.

Used to be a favorite. Now I can't listen to him or Eric Clapton because they're both evil idiots. Rerated ALL their songs SICKO-BARFO. Every one. Will always change stations from now on whenever they come on.

Who cares i can separate their anti vax crap from their music
One of my all time faves...
Such a beautiful song
Great song, great album, terrible entertainer.

And as much as I love the old guy, this is still one of my favs. So quiet, so unlike him. Sometimes less really is more.

Pukestocking.  That's my new Word of the Week.

Hard to reconcile this gentle voice  two years on from the magnificent Astral weeks...
The Belfast Cowboy 🤠 at his best! 10/10. ✔️

Play the Bublé version, surely?  Just tricking.  Not really.

            No one looks surprised.
How do they get their fair share of abuse?
makes me righteous  : )
Sweet. A cryer. My first real girlfriend with this as background music. Moondance, indeed.
This is one of my all time favorite albums/cd... and I picked it up for less than $10 at Target a few years back. The boybriend of the 70's had the original.
love love love
He is next to God.
Amazing... to think this is over 40 years old and still makes me chill as it did in 1970...
sublime springs to mind
Very nice!

What a strange combo of artists to make that point with. Van and the Dead are nothing alike, not to me. I'm a massive Van fan, don't care for the Grateful Dead at all. But I take your point nonetheless.

Such a great album!  Such a joyful song!

This guy drives me crazy. Not sure why, but I find him very annoying.
Every song sounds the same, boring.

To each there own I guess.

I'm inclined to agree.  Save for "Moondance", there really wasn't one other song I liked by him.  Guess it was the voice, or something.
If "van-the-man" were not so damn ugly,
he could be a superstar to any public!

One word from him has 100 times the spirit and soul
than this next-to-ridiculous pony-band guy!

what a sweet sweet sound

I know I've heard a couple of covers of it over the years too. Anyone know who it is that has done some of them?

Wikisays:
"Crazy Love" has proven to be a classic cover song over the years and has been performed by many popular artists. Brian Kennedy's and Aaron Neville and Robbie Robertson's versions were featured in movies. Some of the other artists who have recorded the song are: Brian McKnight, Paul Carrack,<7> Rita Coolidge,<7> Helen Reddy, Rod Stewart, Jason Manns with Jensen Ackles, and also Cassandra Wilson on Van Morrison's 1994 tribute album, No Prima Donna: The Songs of Van Morrison. Michael Bublé covered the song on his 2009 album, Crazy Love.<8> A cappella versions include, Overboard's rendition on their 2008 album, "Castaways".

Hear! Hear!

His voice sounds very different than usual on this song. Much sweeter, more melodic and legato. James Joyce with a voice, a true genius.

GREAT song. So much more than just Vans' excellent vocals. (Sorry, Van!)
i find something new in this song every time i hear it.
Can't really recognize his voice in this one? Petesku: Right you are. Van is a Sad Sucker!
the old van morrison stuff is allright but since I've seen this guy totally drunk on stage blaming himself I don't like him anymore
Van Morrison IS love.
Van's the man. Only this morning I drove "over Newtownards and Comber, Gransha and the Ballystockart Road" with a sense of wonder ;¬)
Most of his music is classic. His voice, and the passion with which he shapes his music, is very enjoyable. Moondance is one that I've always enjoyed, and led me to the rest of his body of work, such as this.
Oooooooh, this is nice.
Still sounds sweet after all these years.
I forgot two of my all-time favorite Van Morrison songs -- "Into the Mystic" and "It Stoned Me" cattgirl813 wrote:
Love "Moondance," but not the way he sings it. "Brown-Eyed Girl" sends me screaming from the room no matter who sings it. I love this song in practically any form, even Brian McKnight's oversung version. Something about Van's voice, especially in full belt, disagrees with me. Not sure what it is, but there's a high irritant factor I pick up. That quality is not present in his performance of this song. He's nicely controlled and understated. Thanks for asking!
beautiful version

What about the 2 or 300 other songs by Van that are just as good or better (if not as 'classic') as any of these three? Perhaps more than any other living artist, Van Morrison's music deserves a little bit of effort beyond just picking up on whatever the music business has decided to send out over the airwaves. By the way for a moment I thought it said Northern Ireland under Eutychus's name and I was really wondering how they could make a statement like that! But now I see it's just Mary Land.

Moondance and Brown-eyed Girl are great but over-played. Crazy Love has more heart & soul.
