Hey man, take a look out the window
And see what's happening
Hey man, its rainin' its rainin' outside man
Oh don't worry about that, brother
Everything's gonna be everything
We'll get into something real nice, you know
Why don't ya sit back and groove on a rainy day
Sniff, yeah
Sniff
Yeah I see what you mean brother
Maybe I can groove
Rainy day dream away
Let the sun take a holiday
Flowers bathe and uh
See the children play
Lay back and groove on a rainy day
Well I can see a bunch of wet preachers, look at 'em on the run
The carnival traffic noise, it sinks
Into the splashy hum
Even the ducks can groove
Rain burdened in a park-side pool
And I'm leanin' out my window sill
Diggin' everything
And uh you too
Rainy day rain all day
Ain't no use in gettin' up tonight
Just let it groove its own way
Let it drain
Your worries away
Lay back and groove on a rainy day
Lay back and dream on a rainy day
Download Audacity and you can merge this song with "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" and get the whole thing. There's a bit of overlap, so you need to cut out part of one track. The 'hit' just before the wah wah starts is easy to locate and match up. Every time I hear this on RP I think I ought to upload the combined track...
I just bought a CD Nakked Ladyland CD2 which has a number of versions of this combined songs. Haven't checked it out but looks promising .

I love this track however I've always been disappointed that it fades out at the end. I wanna hear more of that spiffy talking guitar wah-wah action!

yea, i think that too now you've suggested it.
I've always liked this track by the way.
If the 'upload' option is no longer possible, there's always sticking it up on YouTube & posting a link here , that would work for me...
cheers
I wish this song was longer, like maybe 5 minutes longer. Fricken great!
See my post below from 3 years ago. The song continues on another side of the album. They can be spliced together with Audacity.

how can this possibly be anything other than a 10?

This was the definition of GROOVE for decades and jazz players that would come,...
yeah,...no. Love Jimi but he didn't set no jazz standards for "real" players.

Couldn't agree more... I can't listen to that song without also listening to the next 2 tracks on Electric Ladyland.
Friends in my circle don't call it a wah-wah pedal.... its just known as the 'Jimi' . As in 'That was awesome dude! You really wail on that Jimi!'
Mishandling by ambulance attendants! He accidentally took an overdose of a European sleeping pill.
The attendants strapped him on the gurney in such a way that he could not clear his throat and hence suffocated
on his own vomit. He may have done drugs in his lifetime, but it ain't what killed him (directly).
That's David Henderson's version anyway, not sure he was in the ambulance at the time, though.
"Instead of laying him down in the ambulance, they sat him in a chair and strapped him upright. He tried to bend over so he could vomit, but one of the attendants quickly pushed his head back and strapped him in tighter. Jimi's head lolled back as the ambulance driver took off. The speeding ambulance pressed his body back in the chair and made it even more difficult for him to get his head down. He felt bile and vomit near his Adam's apple. Jimi was unable to speak. Even if he could, the ball of vomit in his throat prevented him. The vomit massed in his vocal chords. His lungs became congested. His heart began to pump harder, and the right ventricle dilated. Fluid began to seep into his lungs. He was rushed from the ambulance into St. Mary Abbots Hospital. The doctors work on him for over an hour, to no avail."

UNBELIEVABLE - truely!
What an artist!
What would he possibly play today?
We can only imagine! I do!
Don't know if many here know this but Jimi played in other groups before breaking out on his own. One was as a backup musician for Joey Dee and the Starliters. In that same group were members of the soon to be formed Rascals.
Heh - I have that issue. And boy was it a surprise to my mother . . .
I also have the original poster that came with "A Nod is as Good as a Wink . . . " by the Faces, featuring a collage of photos of the band members having, well, a pretty good time with a couple groupies. Mom didn't like that, either.
My Mom almost stroked out when she saw the cover of 'Abraxas'.
Trolling, trolling....clueless Philistine >8^p
No, we really mean that you really don't have a clue. Period. Let's not confine this to music.
