Growing in numbers
Growing in speed
Can't fight the future
Can't fight what I see
People they come together
People they fall apart
No one can stop us now
'Cause we are all made of stars
Efforts of lovers
Left in my mind
I sing in the reaches
We'll see what we find
People they come together
People they fall apart
No one can stop us now
'Cause we are all made of stars
People they come together
People they fall apart
No one can stop us now
'Cause we are all made of stars
Slow slow slow, come come
Someone come come come
Even love is goin' 'round
You can't ignore what is goin' 'round
Slowly rebuilding
I feel it in me
Growing in numbers
Growing in peace
People they come together
People they fall apart
No one can stop us now
'Cause we are all made of stars

wE ArE aLL mAdE oF sTaRz..... so is garbage. Calm down.
Moby is hit or miss for me. This tune is not a hit.
Unfortunately I can't enjoy this song without expecting the Intel riff at the end of each chorus.
Yes, the rights owner sold this to Intel for a TV commercial around 2005. Way to go.
The guitar riff during the chorus is very, very similar to Robert Fripp's violin-like guitar part on David Bowie's "Heroes." Now that's a good song.
Such a hopeful theme... unfortunately this doesn't reflect the current state of our society.
Moby is ok (IMHO), but do we have to hear it every single day? There are SO MANY good artists and musicians, and so much variety of amazing music out there. I love RP and listen a lot, but I would just make a plea for a bit MORE variety.
Moby has made some wonderful work but this sounds like a poor man's version of this Bowie classic to my ears
Just some people are made of brighter stars than others.

Oddly enough, I had this rated at 9....not sure why....just down voted to a 7....i'm guessing the 9 was due to the sentiment of "we're all made of stars" which I truly believe. Anyways, maybe next time this disk is spun I'll change my rating again, again! Long Live RP!!
And today I went +1 to 8....it's the bassline that did it to me....LLRP!!

the best thing the Lil Fella ever did
See these Bones (Nada Surf) followed by We Are All Made of Stars (Moby) - I see what you did there ... Very clever!
Bad
Rating 7 down to 5

It wasn't good in the day, either.
Oh. It does stop.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons is a top-rater on RP. That was written in 1723.
(PS - I'm a sucker for Tiesto's remix of this one - a proper off-yer-tits hands-in-the-air rave classic)
Hey Bill - this came out in 2002. Jus' sayin'

I guess it pays to whine: Bill is now playing CSNY's "Woodstock" right after this.
Deja Vu was a great, great album but it's 44 years old. Maybe Moby didn't hit it out of the park with this one, but I don't think you can exactly claim he's ripping off Joni Mitchell or CSNY.
And Carl Sagan wasn't exactly the first physicist to claim that life on earth was based on stars.
Oh by the way:
if the only excuse for playing this is the "made of stars" sentiment, then why not play Joni Mitchell (or CSN&Y) instead?

Well, I am glad he agrees with you all. But it's good background for getting some work done.
A real let down from Play.
Sounds like Gary Numan...
This is the only song on "18" that I would listen to more than once given a choice. I just listened to it yesterday out of coincidence,to see what the fuss is about. I don't get it. At all.

I like Moby, but DAMN this song is dull.
I guess I'm just dull then. The main reason I like electronica and ambient is that it is repetitive and easily backgrounded perceptually - music for working on another task.
Read somewhere, a long time ago, that this guy might be a Genius... Hummmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
I don't think he is particularly gifted (no more than me with English language though!!!) :o)
But he sold so many albums... Do "Stars" have such a bad taste?

Unattractive person making awsome music. Moby this song reverberated worldwide thanks!
I haven't heard much of Moby's material and I'm wondering -- Is Moby an Eno clone in his own mind?
What a crappy song.
Agreed that Play was a good album.
And I even liked Soul Coughing's "Screen Writer" which was played a few minutes ago.
Moby has arrived in Reseda.
timo maas remix of this is completely fantastic

Yes, this album seems like a carbon copy of "Play"... Which doesn't make it bad because that was a pretty good album, but why would I want to buy this if I have the original
Less creative than his ohter albums...
And a bit sleepy song, even with the samples...
That song sucks. I never liked it. I don't get why poeple jump up and down while listening to some arranged artifical sound-clips without any kind of heart in it.
Great guitar hook.
right we get the message we are made of stars...... shesh

oh please, you'd argue with your conscience and self respect to turn down the chance to be a billionaire and you don't think your mom would get over it?

Science on RP! Yay! I liked your short intro about us made out of atoms from stars, Bill. Totally true and always a humbling thought.
Not so sure about the song, though...
You know, I wasn't at all opposed to the commercialization of "Play". I felt that licensing the tunes to just about anyone who asked was a great way to get the music out there. So long as the music was good, what difference did it make how it was marketed?
It's too bad Moby couldn't hold up his end of the bargain. Everything I've heard from him after Play has been utter shite. It's a shame, because he's done some great stuff in the past.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
-mt-
I like some of Moby\'s stuff, but this is pretty wimpy. The lyrics are sappy, too. Let\'s put flowers in our hair.

Moby "Dick". Pick a motif and repeat ad-infinitum. Bordom.
"do one can stop us now, cos we are all made of stars"?

Probably you just don't know what you like most(?) If so, that's something different than a total lack of taste (have been reading your bio).

The song is just okay from here, but i am not that familiar with the Moby canon either.

My like of Moby has nothing to do with hype. Since I am about as out of touch with the media as you can be in America.

I really like this, it kind of reminds me of Bowie.
the record is skipping
Have to say that I\'m really glad that I was away from my desk when this song played. I can not stand it AND it gets in my head and stays there!
Play, oeverall, was a great disc.
This song, however, is really starting to grate on me. No real substance, just meaningless ramblings.
Let\'s hear more of Moby\'s less radio-friendly tracks, like Everloving or My Weakness. I\'d be interested to hear something different off of the new album.
So this is Moby? What\'s all the fuss about?
moby is horrendously overrated
Not this song again!
Right on Bill!!!
Tired
This song again..? I seem to hear this every time I turn RP on. It\'s a good song, but there must be some other Moby songs to play.
This is a good song, but not after listening it for a week every day! Couln\'d it retire for a while.
Already tired of this one..
Ya know, I really *want* to like Moby, and I do enjoy most of his music. I just have this sinking feeling I\'m going to hear this song on some dumb TV commercial soon...
While this is a good song, maybe it\'s a tad overplayed.
There\'s a whole lot happening in this song, without it getting in the way of each other. Which, alone, is an accomplishment already. Quite nice.

Moby sounds unlike most everything on the radio, however I've the feeling that soon the radio will sound like Moby.
That's a lot like the shift towards The Replacements influenced sound in the 90s. Or, dare I say, Nirvana in the same decade. Or even the Dave Matthews Band feel we've been getting a lot of for the past five years.
This is a welcome shift. Electronica deserves its day, and Moby's shining. It's good that he's not techno or trance - those styles have had their time.
Blarg!Originally Posted by GF: Moby is such a fame whore. Who is he related to?
you hit the nail on the head with that one. I have never heard so many worthless, formulaic, made for top-40 radio, unimaginative, derivative songs come from one recording artist before.
he is NOT electronica.
(now let me tell you how I really feel )
I like this. I saw Moby at a Lollapalooza years ago, when I had never heard of him.
This particular song is strangley Gary Newmanish.

Why do you say that? Haven't seen the video...or heard the song :(
As far as relations, I think he's somehow related to Herman melville(sp)
kevin
still like Play, but glad to hear something new. this song is intriguing.
