I've seen Thievery Corporation around 14 times now, and they never fail to get the deep groove flowin' -- just a fantastic musical collective. DC's own!!!

Labels, labels, labels. To what end? This is good; loaded with chillout vibes and a solid beat ... so just go with it.
If you insist on a label, how about Ethereal Funk.
GREAT TUNE!! NO label necessary. PS: I hate the word Ethereal!

Thievery Corporation originated from Washington, D.C. How appropriate a name for the duo given the general goings on here in the nation's capital.
Rob Garza could pass for Boris Blank of Yello and vice versa.

Love 'em. Saw them in Boston.

I listen to RP at work to drown out the techno weirdness that everyone who sits by me plays. An incessasant, repetitive drumbeat with some dumb voice in the background moaning every few seconds is a recipe for insanity. Stick to the other mostly great stuff you play.
What? I can't hear you... The wailing from the insanity is drowning you out. Please try again later.

Yep, this isn't really the best possible example of house music (that's basically what it's called). It is a part, however, of what the current sound is nowadays, which has little or nothing to do with people actually playing INSTRUMENTS. I listen to a lot of this stuff but still like rock, blues, jazz, etc... Good for you Bill, for exploring other avenues of music. Maybe I'll upload some things that I think are better examples.
house, at least in the US, is much faster and thumpier. this is trip-hop or downtempo.
love those bongos, human or not. or maybe it's a tabla? you got to love the internet, even the humble tabla has its own radio station.. https://radio.tabla.com/
I like the very meditative lyric .... ooommmm ......

The song has a great sound and groove, but does it EVER go anywhere?? :( :(
