I'm not an expert on any of these ladies' works—or Lucinda's—but I love Eliza's gently smoky voice.
Ditto! I'm familiar with all of them and, except for S. Vega, if my "library" consisted of only the female artists noted here and, Lucinda, I'd not tire of or, need to hear anyone else! Although Aretha "takes the medal" for best female vocalist ever, that was then, this is now. And, the "now" voices, IMHO, are every bit as good as Aretha! Long live RP!!! In my years of "jamming", haven't ever heard a commercial station even come close to the quality content that Bill & crew provide us!

Close.  Hard to believe Eliza has a few years on Lucinda. I know Eliza has recorded some Lucinda works, but I'm trying to recall if the reverse is also true.....anyone out there in RP land know?

I don't, sorry! But, just wanted to reply, I could listen to only the 2 of them, and never tire of hearing the beautiful music/songs they create! Kinda funny... aging.... Both of them are my senior but, both still have "sex appeal"! Even at their age, still real easy on the eyes! AND ears! Happy holidays! '23

I am a one-man woman
I live one day at a time
Keep one eye open
I got a one-track mind

I'm a one trick pony
Living in a one horse town
People say I should be lonely
But that ain't what's goin' down
I'm alone but I'm not lonely

I live in a one-room palace
On top of a hill
On the edge of a wilderness
All my dreams could never fill

And I hang my head over
Hear the rustling of the leaves
Down in the hollow below me
A wild woman breathes
I'm alone but I'm not lonely

I am a one-man woman
Flying solo for a time
Oh when I sing here for my supper
I know everything's gonna be just fine

Got two hands to guide me
Through one very long dance
Got a true heart inside me
Gonna give me one more chance
To be alone, not lonely
I'm alone, not lonely

Hey.... Thanks so much for posting this! If I happen to miss a song which, this one I did, I kinda know the voice from other songs. So, I'll read the lyrics, and give my rating based on the lyrical content! I happen to really like Eliza so, you posting this was a big help! Happy holidays to you & yours!

Very pretty song.  Big thumbs up!

Shawn Colvin..

She is the real deal, seen her a couple of times and she simply pulls it off.
I stayed in that hotel, the only one in Chernobyl without the lead covers over the swimming pool, that was a swell weekend ; )
Once again, count on RP to illuminate a gem!
found the lyrics.....
