Far away
This ship has taken me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight
I will be chasing a starlight
Until the end of my life
I don't know if it's worth it anymore

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

I'll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

Far away
This ship has taken me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

I'll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations, yeah!
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms
I just wanted to hold

Excellent!
Teen Angst music really gets tiring

I think this gets missed. If they were as serious as they sound, that would be a bit dislikeable.

I don't really see any similar melody , really

Matt Bellamy is wicked talented. He plays all the keyboards, all the guitars, sings and does the main songwriting. Muse is definitely a guilty pleasure for me.

They are so playfully melodramatic    {#Cheers}

Plus they all have honorary Doctorates from Plymouth University- So i guess they are Dr. Bellamy, Dr.Howard, and Dr. Wolstenholme now  {#Bounce}

THANK YOU!  I could not figure that out, and it was driving me crazy.  What a shameful larceny.

I can't find words to describe how this song makes me feel better every time I hear it.

Jealous. I wish they'd come to Lexington, but I'd go see them in Louisville or Cincy if they played the right venue. Of course, you posted this in 2007...it's 2011...jeebus, they might get booked at Rupp Arena or some other shite. o_O

Dang, they must have been uncomfortable taking that cover photo.
Gorgeous. I went to the wedding of a work colleague and after he kissed the bride and they stepped down from the chupah to greet their guests, this song blasted from the speakers. It felt instantly anthemic and familiar and has made me feel warm and fuzzy ever since.

I never realized how well I could sing along with his vocals in this one until just now... belting it out at full voice with no one around.

I am soooo dreaming of the day when I can see Muse play live.....!  They were in Seattle a few months ago, and I considered going, but alas it was at Key Arena — the acoustics suck something fierce and make every music show there a complete waste.

Good point, davy.  There is a theory that ideas become available in the universe and are picked up by receptive people at the same time — an example would be the nearly simultaneous "invention" of radio by Marconi, Tesla and Edison in the late 1800s.

Another way to say this is that Keane and Muse may be "channeling" some of the same information (and presenting it in the same manner.)

When I first heard this song I thought it was some new or unknown Keane song — but I like it because I like it; I don't dislike it because it sounds like another of my favorite bands (Keane.)  And by the way, Keane is a fantastic live band.  Now I'll have to watch out for Muse concerts as well.

hah, I like both Keane and Muse :) Sure, they sound similar in this song but it makes me laugh when people try to point out that "one band's song sounds like someone else's song and that it's a Huge-mongus crime." Does it matter? We could all say a lot of songs, since music first began, have been doing this, why be 'shocked/appalled' now? A little late for that...

Agreed ... It sounds kinda shaughty over headphones. Might want to check the file, Bill.

I absolutely agree.

I'm hearing this now and thinking about how much grander the sound of it was live. Still like this studio version, but it was a much "bigger" song live.

I like some U2, but this song is so derivative - and terrible.
This really is bad, the lyrics were ridiculous. Please take this away.

aaaah yeah... sweet. {#Surprised}

this music is not in techniques conditions of being passed, sry.

Thom Yorke possessed by Jeff Buckley?
Just another mediocre "indy" band. Tripe.
prog-pop
these people are gods to me but the new album really isnt the same in quality as absolution. shame.

Well, maybe if all the bandmembers of Muse sucked ass they'd sound like the ark. Don't upload The Ark, it doesn't get any worse then that crap.
It's the alcoholpercentage that counts and that's the same :) thewaxtadpole wrote:

I hear the Keane relationship for sure (which isn't a bad thing.) But I also hear Mandate of Heaven... which is a kick a$$ unsigned band here in Syracuse. (https://www.myspace.com/mandateofheaven ) I think it's the vox. Wish Mandate was in the rotation on RP. That'd blow me away !

My thoughts exactly. Bit of a shame... Those "Glass-esque" scales are unmistakably Muse though

Hmmm. A little ABC, a little ELO...
There's a keyboard "riff" that sounds a lot like "Be Near Me" by ABC throughout this one - I first noticed it when I got the album. And SO glad someone else mentioned ELO, it's very much the type of music I was reminded of the first time I listened to the album all the way through — just with a more modern twist to it.
chock full 0' emo-poppy goodness.

When I first heard Keane I thought they sounded like a watered-down middle-of-the-road version of Muse.

Is this the same MUSE that was just at ACL? I'm hearing no similarities to what I heard live.
i am really digging this song.

Finally some Muse other than "Endlessly"!
That fuzzy bass was a rough hit after the Buddhist Monks of Sakya Tashi Ling, but I survived. Feeling a little bit ragged during this song's chorus, though, as it blasts through a whiny male singer whose warbles remind me of the Buckleys (father and son) at their least likeable.
Aside from sounding, musically, like something from the 80's (which may or may not be a bad thing), this is a really poor-quality recording. Compred to the previous song, this has the dynamic range of a mono cassette recording.
