Gladly, I'll do your bidding
For just a taste of what you're holding
For just a taste you could own me
Me
Save your sermons for someone that's afraid to love
I'll be right here lying in the hands of God
Here it comes, diving into me
Now, the floor is the ceiling
If you never flew, why would you?
Cut the wings off a butterfly
Fly
Save your sermons for someone that's afraid to love
If you knew what I feel, then you couldn't be so sure
I'll be right here lying in the hands of God
If you feel angels in your hair
Teardrop of joy runs down your face
You will rise
Filling me up, now, drain me
Skin begins to grow back slowly
Faster until I'm choking
I really should call my mother
Mother
Save your sermons for someone that's afraid to love
If you knew what I feel, then you couldn't be so sure
I'll be right here lying in the hands of God
I am in love with nothing else
Teardrops of joy run off my face
I will rise for someone that's afraid to love
If you knew what I feel, then you couldn't be so sure
I'll be right here lying in the hands of God
Now, the floor is the ceiling
If you never, flew why would you?
If you never, flew why would you?
You
Why would you?
Carter Beauford is unquestionably one of the world's best drummers. Incredible. Dig this band. Thank you RP, more please.
Skilled, no doubt, but for me he tends to be a bit "busy" and play over the music sometimes. This is a good case in point.
this band were truly awful and for some reason loved by the yanks.
I'm glad they never tried to crack the UK
I was searching for drummers listening to Carter Beauford.
Carter Beauford 2011 druming in studio I send my first ICQ message to my wife. I didn't even know where was she and even if she was a man or woman. We just chat a few days later I discovered she is a Russian girl.
It's good that she did not understand I was a Turkish man.
Today, I wouldn't suggest such a relationship to any of my daughters.
I am so thankful RP doesn't play their more memorable songs, as I'm pretty sure the DMB was one of the core artists that killed rock radio in the 80's. I can't name a DMB song off the top of my head, nor have I ever noticed liking one of their songs...but this one I actually like enough to give a 6!
Come on, now, don't spoil the narrative with facts.
It's likely many of the same people who criticize Dave Matthews' dulcet tones.

The reason the comments are generally negative, IMHO, is the fact that RP plays their less than memorable tunes.

exactly! As the apparent one and only fan....even you're not able to say you LOVE DMB...ha!
come on now, h8rhater....I didn't say I hated DMB only pointed out (with a word or two missing....) that iloveradio's comment seemed to be the only "fan/like" comment on this track. And I'm sure DMB does put on a great live show. From what I heard (from my then GF and big fan) he gets super wine-drunk and lets loose. And yes, he did sellout the Gorge for several days.
I'm at a 5 on this cut, which is about as high as I have rated most DMB songs. Clearly you have a unique rating system, with only one 5 rated track. Keep your h8rhate for those that are actually haters....I'm not.
And my gut feels just fine, so someone else can use the Prilosec; I try to avoid medicine (OTC and RX) when I can, especially one that is suggested to be taken for the rest of ones life. I prefer to use Music and Laughter as my medicines.
Long Live RP!! PEACE

Oh, by the way, I love Elvis Costello, I can't bear Moby and... I'm French.
OK, start throwing me your stones.

ps I'm pleased to say I don't know which track ...

No shirt shitlock. Gag me with a spoon\.
DMB and the GD are not to be confused with your sex life. Focus.
Hocus Pocus.

My exact thought when I forget about you trolls and end up reading the comments.

Limp and repetitive? Like the GD? You're right!
Hey, no dissenting voices allowed. Didn't you get the memo?

I think Dave might disagree. Ever read the lyrics to some of his stuff? He's a sexual creature!
Thanks Bill.

I want to smother Dave with a pillow from your hotel room, put the mint in his mouth, and pull the sheets up over his head. Ah, been listening to too much Steven Wilson. Sorry folks.
THAT'S TERRIBLE! Now, if I can just stop laughing...
Everybody in my church loves this song...
Yes, we do.
Everybody in my church loves this song...
Glad I don't belong to your church.
Everybody in my church loves this song...
Oh God/Jesus, he's/it's back...*
*Pun not intended.
Everybody in my church loves this song...
Now that simile conjures some very disquieting imagery.
Sorry.
..tend to agree..my theory is that his vocalizations are so much the same song-to-song..
..that said, this one has a difference to it, & me sorta likey..
Sorry.

They are both great artists that front awesome bands. Not sure what prompted such a violent outburst from you. Rough childhood?
Just listen to this piece of spineless meandering drivel. Where the hell is it going?
It is a miserable song with no redeeming qualities. All DMB songs aren't this insufferable, but this one is nauseating.
I also don't get it... Maybe he touches some cosmic nerve that leaves some people wanting to do stuff to him with pillows... I'm in the "I love DMB" camp.
Count me in your "camp"

An excellent idea. I'll help.
Guess I am un-cool. More DMB Please!

Fry - "You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?"
Nibbler - "Yes...except, the Dave Matthews Band doesn't rock."
That wouldn't surprise me! Take that how you want but it is prolly not good!
Eh it is all subjective, I happen to think both of them suck.
convenga, mi amigo
actually Carter often cites Stewart as a big influence in interviews...
I actually like them quite a bit. Crash, one of my favorite albums. I'd like to know what you guys think is great music.
Still, to each his own. There are many "great" bands I think suck big time.
I am... and this track doesn't disappoint. Rock on DMB!
Smashing Pumpkins have a few good songs, but DMB is the Best!
Carter Anthony Beauford, one of the best of the best, at least in my humble opinion ;o) He is the REAL heartbeat to this band... plus he is a talented song writter too!

I agree, never a fan but I do like this song...the title alone makes me sigh
DMB at its most miserable, droning, noodling worst.
Amen!

Plus I like all the different musical elements going on. It's got a nice varied texture.
I know I'm supposed to hate this guy's stuff, and I really cannot STAND his concert-going fans, but I still like his work.
A very Sienfeldian experience overall.
I've been on the other side of that, and felt pretty stupid for not spelling it out right off the bat. Now if I offer somebody an extra ticket, I always make it plain that I gotta get the cash I laid out for it first. Speaking of which, I got two extras for Phish on Saturday. But I need $50 per.
A very Sienfeldian experience overall.
true That :-)

Have a listen to Gavin Harrison - now he's a drummer.
