I never could get into this band. I still applaud RP for playing them. I don't think they get played anymore on most stations, but I don't listen to many mainstream music stations.
Carter Beauford is unquestionably one of the world's best drummers. Incredible. Dig this band. Thank you RP, more please.

Carter Beauford 2011 druming in studio I send my first ICQ message to my wife. I didn't even know where was she and even if she was a man or woman. We just chat a few days later I discovered she is a Russian girl.
It's good that she did not understand I was a Turkish man.
Today, I wouldn't suggest such a relationship to any of my daughters.

Dave, Stephan and Carter have such a special musical chemistry. Always interesting, and full of great nuance to listen for.
A very pretty Dave Matthews song! I certainly appreciate DMB, but I don't usually think of their music as pretty.

come on now, h8rhater....I didn't say I hated DMB only pointed out (with a word or two missing....) that iloveradio's comment seemed to be the only "fan/like" comment on this track. And I'm sure DMB does put on a great live show. From what I heard (from my then GF and big fan) he gets super wine-drunk and lets loose. And yes, he did sellout the Gorge for several days.
I'm at a 5 on this cut, which is about as high as I have rated most DMB songs. Clearly you have a unique rating system, with only one 5 rated track. Keep your h8rhate for those that are actually haters....I'm not.
And my gut feels just fine, so someone else can use the Prilosec; I try to avoid medicine (OTC and RX) when I can, especially one that is suggested to be taken for the rest of ones life. I prefer to use Music and Laughter as my medicines.

I was convinced I was listening to Elbow until I walked over to the computer and checked the playlist. Well that is a surprise and bumps Dave Matthews up a few notches in my estimation. A straight 7 from me.

Yes, this his not his best work to be sure. And I can understand why some find his voice unpleasant. However, listen to Under the Table and Dreaming and Crash. Both are excellent albums from start to finish. I can't stand the voices of Adele & Grateful Dead and not I'm not too crazy about Mumford & Sons. Remember that artist are after all just people, not gods. They have good days and not so good days. Appreciate the good days.

I guess I'm not too bright - I've never understood DMB's music. It always seems so rambling and stream-of-consciousness - difficult for me to follow. Not saying I don't like his style, because some of his songs are pretty good. This one? Falls into the "I don't get it" category, but that could just be because I'm in a different space today than I was last time I heard it. I'm not rating it, for that reason. Apparently, DMB is one of those groups that has to "grow" on me... *shrug*

Just saw them do this on Austin City Limits — an incredible performance. I'm not a big DMB fan but this song was really amazing.

Fabulous. It's smooth, rhythmic and gentle. DMB (even without Leroi Moore) seem to have a sound all their own — either people like it or they don't. For me, it's always been about the rhythm and syncopation. I love it. (It helps that I really like his layered lyrics, too. Multiple, complicated meanings turn up even in his simplest, nutty songs like "Crush". "The Space Between" has to be one of the best written songs I've ever heard set to contemporary music.)
I still cannot explain why I like DMB so much. Like this song: it's hard to figure out what exactly, if anything, Dave is trying to say. But reading the lyrics, it really affects me.
Plus I like all the different musical elements going on. It's got a nice varied texture.
I know I'm supposed to hate this guy's stuff, and I really cannot STAND his concert-going fans, but I still like his work.

I am always reminded of the time I was offered tickets to a DMB concert by a friend. He said he had two tickets he wasn't going to use. It was a double-date kinda thing. After the concert, he told me I could give him the money for my two tickets any time - no hurry. I had the impression that the tickets were gratis, but apparently he had other ideas. I was shocked at how much the tickets cost. No way I would have gone had I understood the required outlay of cash.

I've been on the other side of that, and felt pretty stupid for not spelling it out right off the bat. Now if I offer somebody an extra ticket, I always make it plain that I gotta get the cash I laid out for it first. Speaking of which, I got two extras for Phish on Saturday. But I need $50 per.

I am always reminded of the time I was offered tickets to a DMB concert by a friend. He said he had two tickets he wasn't going to use. It was a double-date kinda thing. After the concert, he told me I could give him the money for my two tickets any time - no hurry. I had the impression that the tickets were gratis, but apparently he had other ideas. I was shocked at how much the tickets cost. No way I would have gone had I understood the required outlay of cash.
