I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man
He said he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there but the brochure looks nice

Jump in, let's go, lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low
These are the days when anything goes

Every day is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Every day is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine

He's got a daughter he calls Easter
She was born on a Tuesday night
I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone
Why I'm a stranger in my own life

Jump in, let's go, lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low
These are the days when anything goes

Every day is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Every day is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine

I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy
I've been living on coffee and nicotine
I've been wondering if all the things I've seen
Were ever real, were ever really happening

Every day is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Every day is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer

Every day is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Every day is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer feeling fine

Every day is a winding road
Every day is a winding road

Oh here comes the tired "she stole" argument we get on the boards for every Sheryl Crow song.

It would seem that her success did not preclude Mr. Gilbert's, as he was a front runner to replace Phil Collins in Genesis at the time of his untimely death from auto erotic asphyxiation (not suicide) the year after Tuesday Night Music Club.

Show me the word "stole" in my post, hater. Sheryl Crow used Baerwald, Bottrell, and Gilbert to become famous with their work, left them and got a different band once she was on the way.

As I said, Never forget Kevin Gilbert.

Kevin Gilbert was a genius. Never forget.
Great tune.  Live a little, embrace it.
Give B&R a break... If you ONLY want to hear what you already like, listen to your CDs or audio player!!

RP pushes my boundaries - then gives me a 'skip' function for when it really doesn't float my boat!!!

LLRP and the variety of music they play!!!!

hermosa voz!
Prince does a really cool cover of this song. I believe Sheryl sing background on it.
I've always liked this song; the fact that she had Neil Finn singing along with her on it really impressed me, too! Turns out she says it was inspired by things Paul Hester said about the struggles he faced with his depression, which caused him to leave the tour Cheryl and CH were on at the time... My ex- and I played this song and CD a lot in Ishikawa, where every day for 8 years I drove the winding roads of Noto Hanto, Nishi Honshu...
Great to hear this classic again—love the bass line!
Excellent!!

That bass line is amazing...
Didn't hear this in a long time, quite like this. Backing vocals by Neil Finn, says my memory. Wikipedia confirms.
Could barely notice the transition to this from the Jose Gonzales cover version of "Cello Song" from Nick Drake.   Well done BillG
Don't like her voice.  Soz.
Bill, the seguemeister. This has been some run. Thanks RP.

Maybe on old regular radio. Nice to hear it here. Good song in spite of your disdain.
Lot o haters. Oh well, this is strong cut from a strong disc, nice play Bill, thanks.
Never forget Kevin Gilbert.
So how is David Baerwald?

I've been living on coffee and nicotine

Take these kind of songs in the context of when they're played people!
Bill's sets are little gems caught in the moment...
don't like this song much, but it brings to mind a GREAT movie, Phenomenon
yum!  love this song, makes me happy every time I hear it..!
{#Sunny}
Good Music is GOOD MUSIC ... I  don't care if it's played on AM, FM, on your stereo, 8-track, cassette, or DVD.
When "Freebird" came out EVERYONE WENT WILD ABOUT IT!!
Lighten up people!
for pete's sake, rename it Everyday is a Whining Road...{#Puke}
Anyday I hear a Sheryl Crow song on RP is a day that blows - fortunately, it's not everyday.
Pretend you don't know who this is...  It's really not all that awful.  To bad she hasn't done more of this sort of thing lately.
I got confused between the local FM radio that's on in the office and the RP that's on my computer for a minute...
alo, alo, alo, wots goin on ere then

No..............just no. I am now waiting for the radio sound effects and the Morning Zoo DJs to start their idiotic blather.{#Puke} RP is better than this.

Great Rocking Tune - Keep playing it Bill.  {#Dancingbanana}

Ditto on digging the percussion.

Yea, I hear that, too. Like it has been "over equalized" or something. Not near as exciting is it. Still love it, tho!

Yeah and she sounds like she's singing in a bathroom. Great song though, I particularly love the percussion

There's no low end. I thought it was my player settings and tried to boost the bass. Then I thought it was just me.
Thanks, I'm NOT going crazy.
Well...at least not about this song.

Pfffffft.
Good memories with this one, not telling...
where is the 0 button?
