Meet me on the Equinox
Meet me half way
When the sun is perched at its highest peak
In the middle of the day

Let me give my love to you
Let me take your hand
As we walk in the dimming light
Or darling understand

That everything, everything ends
That everything, everything ends

Meet me on your best behavior
Meet me at your worst
For there will be no stone unturned
Or bubble left to burst

Let me lay beside you, darling
Let me be your man
And let our bodies intertwine
But always understand

That everything, everything ends
That everything, everything ends
That everything, everything, everything ends

A window
An opened tomb
The sun crawls
Across your bedroom
A halo
A waiting room
Your last breaths
Moving through you

As everything, everything ends
As everything, everything ends
As everything, everything, everything
Everything, everything, everything ends

Meet me on the Equinox
Meet me half way
When the sun is perched at its highest peak
In the middle of the day

Let me give my love to you
Let me take your hand
As we walk in the dimming light
Or darling understand

That everything, everything ends

I was not aware that Death Cab had a female member. Oh, that's not the band? It's an adolescent love triangle? Got it.

Is it me or does that whole Twilight craze feel like ancient history?
ADORE.
100% agreed - sounds like a bad Rush song @ the demo stage and... before all the processing. Nope for this one and I luv DCFC {#Beat}

DCFC drummer, Jason McGerr, is a die hard Neil Peart/Rush fan... it's starting to show.

Yes. And thank God that DCFC has sold out for this series rather than the boys from Canada.

I think that if this song stood out by itself rather than being associated with this movie, the reaction from fellow RP listeners would be far more positive.

Still pretty poppy

No kidding, I gave it my high rating before the page had completely loaded and I saw it was on the soundtrack! I thought it was some sort of neo-paganism message...maybe RP will play some Loreena McKennit after this song?!
Nice!

Ummm, because it's good to get paid in this crap ass economy.  AND they are getting exposure to a whole other group of people who may have otherwise been previously unaware of their music.

That's about the size of it. Plainly this is a by-the-numbers Death Cab song, not a patch on their CD stuff. A McSong to fit in with a McVampire movie. Compare the New Chastity of the 'Twilight' series and its imitators - all dark mood but no sex, blood or violence - with, say, True Blood - visceral, erotic, frightening, and a worthy successor to the Nosferatu tradition. Vampires without sex, blood and violence are toothless, Stepford Vampires.

So Rush.

Yes it would be nice to hear some Bonzos here - good luck with that though.  Good song anyhow.

Bill has played "intro the outro" before but I think that's it for the Bonzos.

... yup, just checked. Last played in 2007 :(

Some of their stuff was quite good music all on its own.  "I'm The Urban Spaceman" comes to mind.

I always liked "Hello Mabel"

The fact it is on the emo vampire soundtrack, song drops to a 7
The fact the cover for the movie/album is so horrible, song drops to a 6.

I 2nd this

I understand your rating logic, though I'd probably only drop it it one point for the combination of your last two points.

I own it and now really like it — it does grows on you.  The overall feel is pretty melancholy — might be too "depressing" for some, but then that's right up my alley.  {#Smile}

Standouts for me (besides this track, of course) are:

Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) - Hearing Damage
Lykke Li - Possibility
Anya Marina - Satellite Heart
Black Rebel Motorcycle - Done All Wrong
Sea Wolf  - The Violet Hour
Grizzly Bear - Slow Life

+ a beautiful instrumental by Alexandre Desplat

I am really tired of hearing this band.

wow, they sound like Rush here.. (later Rush; not the early stuff)
oops.. looks like i'm not the only one.

Actually, Rush still are a polished act with first class musicianship. They are like a fine wine, better with age.

To answer the "Rush" question above... I just heard this for the first time and thought it must be a B-Side from "Roll the Bones".  It reminds me a bit of Dreamline off that album.
I thought it was Rush when it started.  I was just gonna ask if anyone else heard that and Bill said something about it.
not so sure about these guys.
they should rename the outfit The Earnest Amateurs
Just checked the calendar. You're three days early.

I agree, but I still thought it was Rush when it first came on.

That was pretty rotten. Don't want to hear it again. KTHX.

I hear ya.  I was born in July - sun child.  We froze here last week - temps hovered around zero.

I, too, thought the vocals sounded like Geddy!

I'm outside the target demographic for these books and the movies (thought the
acting and story line in the first were utterly laughable), but this song is terrific!

Not their best but its still a quality tune. A solid 7.

As for the Vampire-Lite stuff, the less said the better. Who'd ever have thought that that symbol of dangerous sexuality, the vampire, would be used to promote abstinence and control? I'll take True Blood every day of the week as that's far closer to what vampires are about.
new moongeddy
Generic, commercial slop.

The first few bars also reminded me of RUSH
Too funny about the Rush comments. 1st time I heard it in the car, my wife (just having seen the movie) says "guess who this is?"  She knows I'm a DCFC fan, and also a Rush fan. I said "well it sounds like later-day Rush, but......wait a minute is this Death Cab?"    She laughed rightfully so at me.  {#Rolleyes}

{#Lol} I LOVE Rush. But that's still funny.
Yup, my thoughts as well.

Completely. That's why I checked in to see who played this song.

I absolutely love playing this song on my acoustic guitar. The bridge is especially "good for the ears" as Romeotuna would say.

Also, to the folks unsure about the soundtrack of a movie they wouldn't see... well, have you guys seen the soundtrack listing? It's got some good stuff on it, including a pretty good Thom Yorke solo piece called Hearing Damage. I'm wondering too how many people hated Magnolia but loved the soudntrack. In other words, don't let a movie (or its throngs of fans) put you off to flat-out good music.

I admit to disliking the vibe of this series, I'm compelled by a deep distaste for what this type of movie seems to be seeking in its audience ... but I really have tried to set that aside and this still doesn't seem be DCFC's best.  It seems called-in, like they had a bullet list of themes they needed to hit and well, hell, the money is good so they did their best under the conditions.  Not bad, overall but not worthy of RP's playlist.

Disclosure: I loved both Magnolia and the soundtrack ; )

i liked it when i heard it—-before i knew it was connected to the movie. so i'll have to stick with my first impression—-liking it, that is.

bland forgettable stuff

makin them rich !

DCFC: Love
Twilight: Hate

How to rate this one? Gaaahhhh.

Gah!  I'm not sure how I feel about Death Cab being on the soundtrack for this Twilight slop.  It's great to see the guys successful and everything, but...

That being said, I dig the tune.  Hungry bassline in this one.
