We were born without time
Nameless in the arms
Of a mother, a father, and God
When the world would wait for us
A thousand years in the crush
Of our eyes, fearless, and awed
So quietly, we'd fade into sleep
With nothing on our mind(s)
Hoo, hoo, hoo..
And then we longed to be loved
In the rush, we become
Some things we thought we'd never be
We were surprised by how hard
Left wary and scarred
From the nights spent feeling incomplete
And all those evenings swearing at the sky
Wishing for more time
All the promises we broke when we tried
Just wastin' all our time

Hoo, hoo..

We grow old all at once
And it comes like a punch
In the gut, in the back, in the face
When it seems someone's lied
And our parents have died
Then we hold onto each other in their place
And I feel the water risin' around us
Maybe that's okay
Yeah, I feel the world changin' all at once
I guess it'll be okay

Hoo, hoo, hoo..

And we all had one hope
There was someone lookin' down
To return our bodies to each other
And the ground

It's easy to compare them to Neil Diamond when all the other songs have already been created. As a Neil Diamond fan I will say The Airborne Toxic Event is a better band.

Coincidentally I started reading the novel "White noise" the same time there was an airborne toxic event in Ohio caused by trump's relaxed regulations on railways.  Is only later did I learn of the band... Leave it to radio paradise to clue me into the good stuff... Glad to know the music is as good as the band name...

Give the regulation that was removed allowing the derailment in Ohio. and what it would have done to prevent the issue.

Pipelines would help with that . . . oh, wait, Buffet and the Dems prefer things shipped on his rails.
How bad is Pete Buttigieg? So bad the nation knows who the Transportation Secretary is.
But Trump!!

There are points with his singing when I think Neil Diamond joined a rock band. Love it either way.
I'm always impressed with the amount of rock'n'roll energy that these guys can summon up.  Their shows must be amazing!
Pitchfork rated this album 0 (zero) and this in part destroyed their career.
The singer replied to Pitchfork with a very interesting letter.
I was unfamiliar with this group until I started reading the novel and watched the Netflix movie White Noise. What's really weird is I started reading the novel about a train crash in Ohio releasing toxic chemicals, the very day there was a train crash in Ohio releasing toxic chemicals.😅
And now here they are on RP

One of my fave bands live

Read Mikel Jollett's book "Hollywood Park". Helps make so much sense of the music. It ain't pretty.

Understatement of the year. Looked it up on Amazon, looks pretty rugged. Wow.
Thanks for the tip - maybe I can find the guts to read it.
c.

Never heard of them. Really good. Thanks RP

This review warrants, at the least, a less abbreviated apology.

he recently texted me "killer song" so I'd look at the lyrics.
RIP Kazoo, gone too soon

I didn't realize Neil Diamond could still rock like this!
Love this, especially for the lyrics. Gets ya thinkin and it’s spot on.
Excellent lyrics.
The has a nice “Wedding Present” vibe sound to it.
