Tell me again
When I've been to the river
And I've taken the edge off my thirst
Tell me again
We're alone and I'm listening
I'm listening so hard that it hurts
Tell me again
When I'm clean and I'm sober
Tell me again
When I've seen through the horror
Tell me again
Tell me over and over
Tell me that you want me then
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Tell me again
When the victims are singing
And the laws of Remorse are restored
Tell me again
That you know what I'm thinking
But vengeance belongs to the lord
Tell me again
When I'm clean and I'm sober
Tell me again
When I've seen through the horror
Tell me again
Tell me over and over
Tell me that you love me then
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Tell me again
When the day has been ransomed
And night has no right to begin
Try me again
When the angels are panting
And scratching the door to come in
Tell me again
When I'm clean and I'm sober
Tell me again
When I've seen through the horror
Tell me again
Tell me over and over
Tell me that you need me then
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Tell me again
When the filth of the butcher
Is washed in the blood of the lamb
Tell me again
When the rest of the culture
Has passed through the Eye of the Camp
Tell me again
When I'm clean and I'm sober
Tell me again
When I've seen through the horror
Tell me again
Tell me over and over
Tell me that you love me then
Amen

chugged a bottle of Johnny Walker, smoked a pack a cigs and then this became a delightful sing along song
I have always appreciated Cohen's music but I do agree that he seems to get more air play on RP than i would think is warranted. This song is not his best. It goes on much too long.
Please, *don't* tell me again.

Yeh but the comment still holds true

Snoooooore.Boring boring crap
REALLY don't understand why this guy is played so much on here. What am I missing? He always sounds like he's half asleep or dead when singing.
I think it's time to replace the batteries in the tape player.....

Fantastic poet. Passable music. If you're listening to Mr. Cohen as a musician you're most likely going to be disappointed. But if you're listening to him as a poet who uses music to convey his verse, he's infinitely more satisfying.

PSD before I go to sleep.
Damn, I did PSD 2 minutes into it and it's still going...

I have been a fan of Cohen for 30 years or more. Until right now.
sleepy
Seriously, it never ends.
Really great tune - love that there is NEW Cohen! I've heard the album is very good overall - I hope to hear more of it here....
I start off liking this, but then it just goes on and on. Too slow and gentle.
Sing it with me, people: You're a mean one, Mister Grinch, you've got termites in your smile....
Thank you, RP, for the PSD button.

Drivel, like most of his work.

THIS made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not the Moody Blues, Chicago, Yes, Jethro Tull, etc? What's wrong with this picture?
Thank you.

I love listening to his voice and music but they are somehow more poetic than musical - aside from the lyrics. The music itself is poetic. If that makes sense.

No finer poet in songwriting today. He's never claimed to have a great voice, but he continues to mine the depths and celebrate the heights of human existence as it's lived today. He sees himself as an instrument. IMO, he's a musical alchemist..
Amen.

Oh, I don't know about that. It is just that he has developed a certain style in music, which sometimes seems out of date a little bit. But then again, when you see hin at one of his concerts, you can not possible retract from the magic of his sound. And he always has two smoking hot background singer ladys on stage, which, with their sound and apperance, make up for the somehow aged voice of mister Cohen.

I love lots of stuff he's done. He is just getting a bit boring now, but then, I'm boring and he's even alot older than me. Keep it up Mr. Cohen, please.
this is music?
tl; dl.
Three 10 votes. His mom, dad and brother must be listening

Especially poignant for the older set,...wait a minute, that's me. Solid 8 if only for Cohen's insight into the human condition.
Holding the sleep/wake button and home at the same time, seemed to work.ðððð

Repent. Now.

Ths song scares the hell out of me, and I haven't even done anything wrong — lately.
