one question why would such a great band play at a republican celebration for governor of NC.
one other note my grandson was named Avett, my son likes the band
Because they are true Americans, not Democrats?
Tastes and echoes of John Prine.

Mighty hard to resist that kinda uplifting thing they have going on. I admit it, I was uplifted.
Love this song more and more each time I hear it.
OK, ok, we get it! You're rested and ready.

These guys are genuine, musicians, poets and people.
No one has made a stronger impression on me since James Taylor.
Folk legends already....

There older stuff is more of an acquired taste, but I think it's great. I don't think I really got hooked on there older stuff until I saw them live. These guys really get into it!
..good-strong 8 on this Avett offering..just read on their Wiki page that they've been releasing discs since the early Aughts..any chance of some exposure to their back catalog, RP?..

They do hop around a bit, don't they. Saw them about a year ago, this old fart was still dancing at the end of the night!
This is a beautiful song! The studio version is easier on the ears than live performances. They tend to get REALLY excited when they play live and as a result they don't sing as melodically. Sometimes their vocal cohesion in a duet, such as this, takes a back seat to youthful exuberance. But, oh, to watch them live! What a treat!
Words of an old fart.

Only 9? Thats 31 days and only 9 plays. Now if it were American Pie or Stairway to Heaven (or anything by Leonard Coen on this station) then maybe there would be something to complain about, but I for one am happy to hear this.
9 (not Numberwang) plays in a month for this song?

first listen.
love lyrics. love song.
love lyrics. love song.
Terrific soporific.
Rested, ready and repetitious.
Liked it straight away having never heard it before and correctly guessed it was part of what I would call a happy occurrence of modern folk trying to sound like older folk. I'm all for it. The bareness of it is really nice and he has such a classic folk voice.
...I think, you know, I'll be okay.
Well, there are only so many chord progressions.
