He's a doppelganger to a guy I went to high school with, maybe minus the peace sign.  He did pretty well for himself and ended up being a cancer doctor in Spokane.

Of course the opposite is true.  If one cannot manifest the creative thoughts swirling around in their brains by way of physical skill or technical prowess, how could their creativity ever truly exist for others to enjoy, or not?

I dearly hope you're not suggesting that someone can sit around and daydream and call that creativity?
This sounds like one computer-generated song ripping off another computer's song.

I don't know.  Same tempo, same key, nearly the same chord changes, very similar percussion.  I honestly thought this was just someone's cover/homage.

I like this song and think it has a place on the RP playlist, but the
guy's not wrong - it's an appropriate comment, as far as I'm concerned.

Too much of what I see in the comments seems to just be cheerleading.
We appreciate that it makes you feel good, or reminds you of days past,
or that everyone in your hotel room is dancing to the given track ...

... but a more comprehensive discussion with room for criticism is much
more interesting. Trolls notwithstanding, I appreciate the critical
comments, even if I myself take umbrage occasionally.

Lot's of debate about creativity in these comments, but no mention of Radiohead.  Is this not an adaptation of "Reckoner"?

Ok, guys, I appreciate your remarks. I'd say my Corn Flakes may have been meddled with the morning I first heard this. Since then, I've heard a few other very likable tunes from him here, and upon reading up on him, was impressed with his bona fide musicianship, ambition and career path.

But the peace sign in a snapshot, –the social media standard, –but still an awkward, nervous gesture, symptomatic of a generation that doesn't know how to react to camera lens pointed their way. Well, at least there's no ducky lips with it :)

Not serious. Or thoughtful.

An ELECTRIC guitar yes, to a degree.
                               Certainly not an accoustic.

In this piece, without the violin - there is zero creativity.

What the hell!!!?? These prices seems to be for a Rolling Stones lost bootleg CD, not for a simple musician, really beautiful, but simple.

I spoke too soon.  They are available for much less directly from the performer's web-site.  US$ 10 for an mp3, FLAC or other download.

Interesting.  RP plays Emancipator a lot (5 plays in the past month for Minor Cause alone), and I mean a lot but is not positioned to benefit from CD sales.

I hiked around Los Torres del Paine in southern summer of 1978 by myself.  Took just shy of 5 days.

I got off the trail, i.e., lost for about an hour on the second day but eventually found my way back.  In those days, maybe a couple of dozen hikers completed the full route per year.  Nasty military dictatorships were in power in both Chile and Argentina at the time.

The snow-capped peaks and glaciers that calve off into the lakes are stunningly beautiful.  I would highly recommend it to anybody who likes to backpack.

In those days, I went for a long walkabout as the Aussie aboriginals like to say.   My grandmother dropped me off at the American/Montana border and I hitched to Tierra del Fuego.

These days it is called 'exotic adventure travel' and there are likely a lot more people doing it.   Still worthwhile though.
Sounds most excellent Mr. Westslope wrote:

Fifteen minutes ago I sent my daughter the reminder request to see if she will join me in his upcoming concert at the Boulder Theatre.  Now here he is.  Two notes in to the piece and I'm "AH there is Emancipator!"  Thanks for making my moment Bill and Rebecca.

This is such an RP song.  I like it.
Gliding along on a Sunday night, lasagna inn the oven, cool breeze coming through the open windows, little dog at my feet. Music for a Florida evening.
Listened to this song for the first time just now.  Brilliant.

I came to Emancipator through RP a while ago and I love their sound. Thanks, RP!
New for me too, though I've heard other stuff from them. well worth checking out.
Didn't recognize this song.  That's because it hasn't been played on RP before.  I'm first to comment.  Giving it a 7 on first listen.
