I sit alone in the dark, and I try to remember
The words you spoke when you summoned the Ender
You chained my life to an ancient master
Will the curse be reversed if I say it backwards?
What you crossed was a line at the edge of the void
And you can't crawl back without making a choice
But then something escaped when you opened the gate
You cheated death and sealed your fate
(1, 2, 3, 4)
Put on your new dress tonight
And look to the west, the moon's in the sky
I wanna get at least that high
Wanna leave the Earth and my things behind
You told me you're never gonna die
How am I supposed to sleep through the night?
You showed me the secret of life
I can't forget that look in your eye
Been a long time gone, living out on the coast
It's a long way back from the edge of the cosmos
Truths once known never come unknown
I learned that lesson lives ago
To die for good, it must be earned
The ways of death can never be learned
And the life I've lived is only dust
The darkness comes for all of us
Put on your new dress tonight
And I look to the west, the moon's in the sky
I wanna get at least that high
Wanna leave the Earth and all things behind
You told me you're never gonna die
How am I supposed to sleep through the night?

Lord Morning Fox.
I can't get enough of Lord Huron! Been a fan since there first album Lonesome Dreams in 2012. Their 2022 Long Lost has become my favorite album of theirs.

The characterization by one RP wag of their song "World Ender" as "zombie surf music" was, I though, a stroke of brilliance, and now whenever I hear Lord Huron, I cannot help but think "zombie surf music". I like it.

great song!
Those lyrics, wow!
top ! top !
They have a sound.
It's happened more than a few times that I've asked to know who is that, and it's just because I couldn't remember their name.
And I've never heard anything from Lord Huron that I didn't like. Good musicians.

Oh I'm the World Ender baby and I'm coming for you
They put me in the ground but I'm back from the dead
wait, it's not that song?
Is it possible to bring back the release year of the album when we look on which album the tune was released? Cheers to your good work. J-P

Why so mushy?

I've had to go to the toilet for 30 or 40 minutes. Can't you play one (1) new song for me that is NOT interesting? So that I can leave the room without regret.

It is an Eastern State in the Midwest. A state with sunrise and sunset coasts. Wild and remote land tied to, and in some cases reclaiming, rustbelt decay. A final destination for the Great Migration with fiery racial discord. The state possesses a cultural mix that is diverse, wary of outsiders, creative, volatile, and is altogether an unplanned mess. Yet it endures and proves to be fertile ground for musical expression.
In summary, there are actually people living in Michigan!

Thanks to RP, they've been on my must-see list for a few years. Timing never worked out, and couldn't muster the energy for a day at Outside Lands.
Thankfully, they added a last-minute show at The Independent in SF. Truly awesome evening, and this song was the high point.

sounds like "The World Ender" off his earlier album
Love this band. Great song. They have a hauntingly distinctive sound.
I am hearing similarities to Brian Ferry & Shearwater ...

Then please explain Ted Nugent.

The first few bars made me think of Shearwater.

I've been interested in visiting the U.P. ever since reading the book series starting with "A Cold Day in Paradise" by Alex McNight. Thank you for re inspiring me, eh?

Surf Rock married the Moody Blues and the result was Lord Huron.
Very solid band i.e. great! (that I discovered here)
That's gonna warrant further investigation. Interesting sound.
And the great bass line. Nice
Feel like I'm fated to never see Lord Huron live, and I've been trying for years because I very much want to; They've sure got that "it" sound. Things come up and I have to cancel/sell tickets. At least they weren't on the bill for this year's High Water Festival (CHS). Pandemic seized that excellent outdoors-by-river shindig. Sorry state of musical chairs 'n affairs right now.
Lord Huron have their own distinctive sound...one thatI like and appreciate as a listener. When you hear that sound, usually only after a few opening chords...you know it's Lord Huron!!

One of the many reasons that I am a subscriber to RP, is that it is on this site that I was "exposed" to this band, among others. The downside, according to my better half, is that my iTunes expenses have also gone up. And it's going to happen again.
watched a Lord Huron concert video recently - really good stage act. !
It's really fun at a show, Ben gets his groove on during this.
listen to that bass line.
Playing Blue Hotel with this tempo would make a nice cover
A truly most excellent song, the sound is different and very easy to listen to
