Perish the pain
I was impoverished
Those ties that wind
And stared into open lanes
Stared into long long nights
Howling and still
West of the Eastern Cove
Carving the wind
Dawn of your eyes
Dust off your smile
When you say "Us"
You make me trust
I will never keep you from an open door
I know, you know
That's how much I feel in everything you are
You know, I know
Hot as the day
When we sat on stones
Watching the fish, run
Under our feet, and flow
And dove from the rocks
Scraping my knees and toes
And blood, with me, rose
Slow from the sea
And you were waiting for me
Waiting for me
Waiting for me
Waiting for me
You were waiting for me
It's just how much
When you say "Us"
You don't know just how much
You make me trust
I will never keep you from an open door
I know, you know
That's how much I feel in everything you are
I know, I know
I will never keep you from an open door
I know, you know
I will never keep you from just who you are
I know, I know

Future Islands is a great name. They must mean California.

They refer to what China is building (Illegally) in The South China Sea.
nothing to see (or hear)  here, . . skip

Future Islands is a great name. They must mean California.
Leon Russell, "Have to go Back to the Island" and then next up is Future Islands. I see you, Bill.
bill must love this outfit. i swear i hear it on the daily.
very 80s vibe.
What a Sprachfehler
Слава Украине !
Хорошая песенка !
This is the the kind of futuristic song back in 1980 I pictured being on the radio in the 2020s.  Not Kanye, Adele, or Ed Sheeran.

Future Islands kind of lives up to their name.

To correct your math, 10 plays in 30 days = once every 3 days, not at least once per day.

We occasionally play new releases that often, though not for very long.

..so back in your box
Good Tune! I never heard of them before. Thank You RP!
The aural equivalent to sand in the swimsuit.
Future Islands are great , RP has been my mainstay listen to for years now and I have bought endless albums from bands I never would have heard of elsewhere, the Amazon CD button is a bit too easy to hit ......... , Thanks Bill and Rebecca for keeping us all enlightened to a wide world of great music
Regards
Bill

Watched "Let's Spend The Night Together" because Charlie Watts just passed. Mick is pretty spastic and jerky in his "dancing", so I don't think Samuel or Joe are alone in this.

Damn, didn't know Future Islands had a new album. Might have to grab it.

Peter Gabriel is so heavy and deep and accurate and ..... honest. Agree or not he is a master. If it doesn’t touch you it’s because he makes you feel uncomfortable.... which usually means it hit the spot. Truth always hurts. That why we can only take it in small diluted doses. Peter has a seeming immunity to its pain and shares with us.

Uhhh... I agree.

Regardless, this does not change the fact that in Australia there are 48 million kangaroos and in Uruguay there are 3,457,380 inhabitants. So if the kangaroos decide to invade Uruguay, each Uruguayan will have to fight 14 kangaroos.

Finally, a Future Islands comment chain that doesn't  mention Samuel Herring's bizarre on-stage dancing.

Aw, crap...

I just wanted to mention Samuel Herring's bizarre on-stage dancing.

Yeah- i'm that guy...

Keep on spinnin BillG, we're all listening and trusting the one who provides the soundtrack to our lives
small doses = good
large doses = not good
Happy Christmas everyone, Happy holidays for all the other religions too..I love this track and it is the first time I heard it!

Thank you to Radio Paradise for your "eloquence" in musical choices, you have helped to make my year bearable!
Future Islands have such a distinct sound, I immediately know its them and I'm drawn to the voice on every single track of theirs.   Great band I hope to catch on the live circuit someday.

It feels like once a day, that's what I meant! But that's OK, "All things must pass", as George would have said.
Long live RP :)

And now, 11 plays in the last 30 days.

 Comment in wrong thread?

This went on first listen to a 7 ... read the comments, watched their live performance on Colbert and bumped straight up to a 9! The emotions in delivering that song gave me goosebumps!
Thanks Bill for heads-up on new album from these legends discovered on RP!
Live on Colbert

That's a tad too much.
Just like War on Drugs, it's every day, at least once a day. Sounds more like a prescription  than a DJ set to me

Is that Dieter from Sprockets on lead vocals?
A good new album, yet not so good as the two previous works.
Foots tapping...9/10 from down under

Yay! New Future Islands! Another great band that RP helped me to find. LLRP.

Likewise!
Only the second time I hear this song (last time was on Colbert) but the emotions are as real as they can get. For a band that is labeled as 'synthpop'!

Delightful artists, delightful musical escapade (as in: I sure as hell wished I could be as honest and open in public as these guys during performance). 7 to kick it off.
New Future Islands

A 7 for the forthright delivery and pleasant tune
Open with a 6 from South Billyburg in bootiful Brooklyn. Nice tune!
This guy is so earnest.
