but there is 10,000 miles of water
between you and me in Hawaii.
I'd love to meet you for dinner half way
but there's nothing half way between you
and me in Hawaii.
Stay put, I'm coming to get you.
I've got a job to accomplish.
I will float on my raft for you.
You live by the ocean
and it's funny but I live by the same ocean
but I can't even see Hawaii.
There's a girl in the picture.
Her name is Pacific Ocean and
she has come between you,
me and Hawaii.
Stay put, I'm coming to get you.
I've got a job to accomplish.

I always think this is someone it's not.
Ya, Alanis Morrisette :)
Alanis Morrisette-like
That's who I thought was singing..
Alanis Morrisette-like
Sounds like Pink Floyd.
Never stop it! In between keep on singing.
Would be so much better if she learned not to breathe heavily every three words
yes, that drives me crazy!
I just excitedly went to Spotify to find more tracks from an amazing artist introduced to me by RP and was disappointed to find almost no tracks.
This happens a lot and makes me realize how Spotify is actually reducing the amount of music available to us.
Long Live RP
I don’t know what you have been smoking but i found this song there
This song tingles my insides most pleasantly...

This has more Hooverphonic vibes to me 😌
hi
Interesting, I like the song, never heard of her before, then I read this quote about her:
" In addition to music, Belle was a finalist on the popular TV show Survivor and has starred in the feature film Hangman (after being discovered by the film's director at a coffee shop)."
A little more research (following your link) led me to this name:
Kayt Jourdanson
Who may or may not be the same person as Kat Edorsson (survivor contestant).
...and Matson Belle is actually the band name much like Alice Cooper or Jethro Tull.

robots to help them through identity crises in their AI. This artist has the mind of a child and that child wants it back!!
Stupidity like this is incurable:

I also bought the Goodbye Juggernaut CD and its also not the version that gets played here. Its the same vocal track exactly but the instrumental parts are a totally different mix.

Yeah, I bought a much less processed version of the song in 2004-5 after hearing it on RP, so it threw me off to hear this edit - not my favorite, and I'd rate it 2-3 points lower. (That being said, I generally like to hear remixes to see what the changes bring to the song... but I'd still rather have the gentler-instrumentals cut.)

I'm hearing Catatonia! Same time period, too.
I always wonder how the RP song rotation works.
Bill could probably tell you. But then he'd have to kill you.
Actually I think the rhythm track suits the song quite well.
The very next song on the playlist today is "Crystals" by Of Monsters and Men - now that's how to do it!
I agree with the percussion comment. It needs to be better.
It's 3 years later ... and Lyle Lovett is the next artist on the main playlist today. I always wonder how the RP song rotation works.
This has more Hooverphonic vibes to me 😌
And while obviously vocals are female, I'm reminded Elbow for some reason too.

Bill used to play another version that didn't have the annoying fuzzed-out percussion beat. What'd you do with that nice version, Bill?
Bad Bill. Bad.
Yes I wondered who it was, thinking it might be a german band whose name now totally escapes me!
But actually quite haunting and fresh. I'll give it a 6.

with RP, we have the chance, here in France, to discover "artists" and "songs" we can't listen to in France.
Thanks, dear music lovers , and excuse me for my bad english !
Your English is better than most of the people here.
Including me.

Better range and not as annoying as Alanis.
Me too!!
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. get out of my head.
I agree. I have their album Goodbye Juggernaut which has Float on it but it sounds less processed than this version. Dunno where Bill got this one from?
Still, it's all good! :)

This doesn't get played much here, so I rarely get the chance to hear it. I bought this song off iTunes a couple years ago, and it is a different version than this. The track I have is pure and beautiful - and slightly haunting. This version that Bill has, however, is kind of plastic-y - a bit...processed. Still a great song, mind, but nowhere near as good as her other version. Find it, buy it and love it.

well i HOPE the whole album doesnt sound too much like Alanis, because I agree with you but sort of like this!
+1 Bjork meets Alanis
That's strange, 'cause I don't like Alanis all that much and I do like this. Something must've happened in the lab. ;-)
