As others have noted the falsetto on this song is impressively done. It makes one do a double take upon initial listening. Sets me in mind of the same neck-wrenching twisty twist when first hearing LP. And all in a good way, of course.

It's kind of amazing what they were able to pull all this off with a 10-note riff. I guess that goes to show what musical craftsmanship is capable of.

I watched my late friend turned away from a radiologist because his Medicare plan didn't compensate as well as other coverages. On an referral marked "stat" they offered him an appointment three months out. Let's hear again how America's fee for service system will get you treatment at any facility(in network), without regard to state of the art technology.

I'm just learning today (22 Nov 21) that Greg Gilbert passed away in September of cancer. It makes me doubly sad as this song was a favorite of my close friend Byrd, who died of breast cancer two years ago. In fact I had the lyric "We'll go where there's no snow" inscribed on her memorial stone. Rest in peace you two, you both brought a lot of beauty into my life.
A really underrated band, great live and very sad to hear that the lead singer Greg Gilbert died this year who was an incredible vocalist.

Yes, to me and probably many others it's quite a surprise that the lead singer is a man. But where did you get the impression that many of us think less of the song because of it? I don't think this narrow mindedness is a common thing among RP-listeners and I don't read it in the comments.

(as relatively unknown musician he probably couldn't afford insurance) whereas NHS care isn't strictly rationed at all. Under-funded and overwhelmed certainly, but never rationed. It is still a free-to-all service.

Amazingly rich, lush soundscape here — addicting! I got turned onto this by an Ozzie mate named Greg who taught with me at the big uni near Fuji-san and used to throw unforgettable roof-top parties in ShimoKitaZawa and SanGenJaya... Then RP began playing it, and it always seemed to be on my iPod just in time for the train ride back up the Odakyu to Setagaya-ku; this forever takes me back there.

Not sure why Magnetic Fields tunes are not played - there's one (as-of-yet-unplayed) tune on the playlist. Maybe no one has attempted more uploads. This is a pretty cool tune - interesting mix of sounds.
