Cracks in the pavement underneath my shoe
I care less and less about and less about you
No one else around to look at me
So I can look at my shadow as much as I please
All the kicks that I can't compare to
Making friends like you're all supposed to
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
Space around me where my soul can breathe
I've got body that my mind can leave
Nothing else matters, I don't care what I miss
Company's okay, solitude is bliss
There's a party in my head and no one is invited
And you will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
Movement doesn't flow quite like it does when I'm alone
I'll be the one who's free
You and all your friends can watch me, today
Don't ask me how you're supposed to feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
You will never come close to how I feel
I care less and less about and less about you
No one else around to look at me

A+ transition from Beatles "Dear Prudence" to this song

Why do I like all this neo-psychedelic music? No matter, I like it a lot.

i thought this was Stone Roses!

Agreed (though I have no idea who Barrett is) but it does not sound particularly compelling on the first listen.
You might know him better as Sid Barret, co-founding member of Pink Floyd.

I'm lucky enough to have spent some of the lockdown with my part time partner but not feeling like I have to go out and be sociable has been enlightening. I need to do that so much less now it's almost over. I appreciate my own time and space so much more. And I've saved shit tons of money by not needing to :-)
Unfortunately, these days solitude is highly recommended.

My headache reduced as I sang along
Kevin Parker is the man. Why is Australia tearing the house down with screaming quality psychedelic music and leaving the west behind? .... Bourke- Ashbury?
The introduction reminded me of "Beck - Dreams". I prefer him.

Great band from my home town - go TI!
Song progresses from a 7 to a 4 and gets more and more annyoing
I'd forgotten that this was Tame Impala and not a peppy/bouncy version of the Flaming Lips. Apparently Dave Fridman (producer of FL's albums since the 90s) mixed this, so there's that.
I think these guys had a song on an episode of Orphan Black.
Why do I like all this neo-psychedelic music? No matter, I like it a lot.
Love their music....you can definitely hear influences of Cream, Beatles, Old Pink Floyd. Thanks RP for playing TI!

They push the limit with almost discordant sounds with mastery of electronic effects, and their Barrett-like spaciness is mind-boggling.

Looks like it helps to be foreign, I simply love this song because I dont understand the lyrics. The chord succession and the production are both fantastic, that's enough to sell me the thing.

Sounds like one of those really bad, copy-cat psychedelic bands from the 60's that you hear on Psychedelic Jukebox all the time.

I thought I liked Tame Impala... I guess I never listened to this one before. They have better songs than this one for sure!

Yaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnn.
Sorry if that's contagious, I caught it from the song.

What a great, trippy anthem of self-confident pep-talk! I like how it inspires me to draw upon that very resource on a cold, wet gray day.
I've always loved Todd Rundgren's drum sound on A Wizard A True Star and the drums here really sound similar.

Funny how rock bands write all kinds of wonderful anti-social lyrics like this, but the following of rock has always seemed to be highly conformist. Same goes for this comment board. We come here and listen to lyrics like this but when anyone expresses thought provoking opinions like this here they are often ostracized by our resident thought police who are highly conformist.
What is perhaps most staggering of all are the so-called radicals we have here who have the most conservative, reactionary, and down right fascist reactions to people who demonstrate any kind of desire to change the world in a positive way. We have one "revolutionary" here that enforces grammar imposed by the English monarchy from 800 years ago. This person makes frequent conservative attacks against the digital revolution. It is all very strange.

i think these guys have proved their worth.
Playing in Chicago this Thursday! Amazing live.
Gonna see 'em live at the Boulder Theater October 26th... Gonna be HEAVEN!
Like it. A nice trippy vibe, reminiscent of High Violets.
Saw them perform here in Richmond VA.
Very enjoyable. A strong 'A Wizard A True Star" era Todd Rundgren vibe.

<-- Brilliant.
Nice.
Singer sounds exactly like John Lennon. Spooky and awesome at the same time...
Ive been out of touch with RP for a while but I'm glad to be reacquainted. I've written down the last seven or eight artists to remind tmyself that they are worthy of exploration. I don't know a better place to be introduced to music than RP. BBC Radio 6 claims to be the place but all they do is list all the bands that have had their time.
Is it just me, or do these guys evoke Traffic...
Good to hear some other TI. Good stuff!

Interesting groove but becomes boring with a album listen.
Once again, T.I. sounds like the Black Keys. So much so that I just dont see the need to have both of them. They just bring nothing new to the table. Sorry. 5 at best.

Wow, I think this is my new favorite by them. They have such an innovative groove!

I really don't see the similarities here. Tame Impala are way more psychedelic, vocals sound completely different, the guitar sound isn't way up front like the Black Keys... Both bands are great for what I think are very different reasons (though I do prefer the Black Keys' older, more bluesy stuff).

This is way too boring to even rate.
Love this, and their new one is cool, too! Rock these guys more, RP!
