you spent five years saying you'd come my way.
well that's a little more waiting than a heart can take
yeah but now that I know it's just a fantasy,
I feel a hard time coming around for me.
I said oh there's a heartache for everyone.
I spent two years saying give me a chance.
yeah, clean it all up and I'll take your hand.
but not forever, it was understood.
yeah but just for a while, it would do us some good.
I said oh there's a heartache for everyone.
I'm waiting to restore my love.
I'm waiting to restore my faith.
I'll wait for you until I know
there's a heartache for everyone.
hey Valentine, I'm just stumbling around.
who knew that Paris was such a lonely town?
I'll meet you at the bridge where we wanted to kiss,
or take the high road and be done with this.
I'll give you six more weeks baby just in case.
you can change your mind, you won't be replaced.
are we looking at a lifetime of regret,
or just one little moment that we'll never forget.
I said oh there's a heartache for everyone.

ouch . . . my face.
I like a good bit of their stuff...but feeling rather indifferent toward this song.
Now I got a headache...yuck...
GUACALA!
Say what you will about IG but the production values on ALL thier albums is peerless and damnit people just like them.
I'm trying to think of a good description of how I feel about this song (and IG in general), but the "puke in my mouth" comment made earlier says it perfectly.
Really prefer the older Indigo Girls stuff. Except for a couple of good tracks on Shaming of the Sun, everything after Swamp Ophelia just hasn't done it for me.

Uncomplicated, fun track. Makes my morning!
... Makes my morning too but the tune belies the lyrical content which is a bit weird considering " You spent five years sayin' you'd come my way, well its a little more waiting than a heart can take, yeah but now that I know its just a fantasy, I feel a hard time comin' around for me. I said oh,oh oh... theres a heartache for everyone..." ... Dig? ... ...

Couldn't agree more!
What a bunch of Norma Raes...kavetch, kavetch, kavetch!

Did Jaime Hernandez do the cool drawing on the cover?

I've never heard of Indigo Girls but I thought this was ok - it perked me up after Led Zep's Going to California.
What is other Indigo Girls stuff like? Are they big in the States?
They are great....I don't know this song, but check out their old stuff...."Indigo Girls" is really a great album
I really think IG must have had alot of fun with this one. They sound exuberant as they sing.
Can't figure this one out - is it really crap or is it just me?

This can't have been their idea.

Following the Scissor Sisters with Indigo Girls is pure brilliance.
Unfortunately, this isn't the kind of tune I like from these ladies. Fair at best.
Reel Big Indigo Fish. Eh.

Not that bad IMHO. A 3 will do.
This is great. It's been a while since I've heard something fun from the Girls...
Mmmmmmm nice
Oh come on -- give the girls a break. This is a fun sounding song, with a bit of whimsy. It's not their "traditional sound", but IG always seem to rock no matter what style they are doing.

tell us what you really think.
i'm trying to be open but i have to say ....in my opinion ,if it matters at all ,i think this sucks.
ugh... stick to the folk tunes.

Fascinatin'.....how did they arrive at a strategy of replicating the sound of Squeeze?
in a strange way it works though.
Gotta totally agree with this. My first thoughts before I heard the voices was that this must be a new Squeeze. I'm both pleased with the Indigo Girls song and disappointed about not hearing Difford and Tilbrook.
Wow, nobody's allowed to have ANY fun around here...
:P
Wow. IG sounding like Save Ferris. I never thought I'd see the day.
Yetch. Please Girls, don't go dodgy-psuedo- ska/rasta/reggae on us. Quit while I still have respect for you IG.
I just puked in my mouth a little bit.
Blech! More like "Headache for Everyone". Rating is now a 1.
Well at least it's not Closer to Fine again.

i was never into these ladies before, but holy crap, they're growing on me. the magic of radio paradise strikes again. good job, bill. ^_^
This album is brilliant!!!! One of their best!!!!!
My take on the Indigo Girls is that every song sounds the same. I liked them when I first heard them 10 years ago, but there has been little change in their sound. Where's the evolution/experimentation? Oh well, this song gets a 3.

That's almost right NN, but what's the CORRECT ANSWER? I couldn't stand listening to this long enuf to decide. Leslie wrote: Well I've sat through it 3 times now and I really don't like it much, but then I got tired of the IGs after their second album.
Thanks for sparing me the cruel punishment.

I thought this was Hanson.

Better than most of their other stuff.
Still not that great, but I can drink to this.
if this don't make yer foot tap, yer dead

Beat-wise yes.
A new ska band?? until the chorus, anyway...
Interesting twist for the Girls.
I never would have guessed this was Indigo Girls.
Not particularly good, but not ear-piercing either.

Its hard to tell the Difference between the Indigo Girls and Jason Mraz on this one.
these chics do some very nice harmonies...i like
I've always found the Indigo Girls' vocals a bit grinding, but this I actually kinda like...

I've drifted away from IG over the last few years, but I'm really impressed with the songs I've heard from this album.
Yeah. I agree. It's snappy. Nice background vocals harmonies, and nice harmony in general. I didn't know the girls were making good music like this.

I like these guys, but think they should perhaps stay away from ska
a STRONG departure for this duo.
when my fiancee got this album and we were listening to it at home, we did a double take, stared at eachother for a couple minutes, then at the CD player, then at eachother again...
heh.
but yea.
great song, and a very good, solid album.

YES!! I was hoping you would play this one, Bill!
The first time I heard this song, it was done acoustically - very different sound. When I heard this studio version, I about fell off my chair - but I love it. I REALLY, REALLY LOVE IT!
Indigo Girls do Ska! Too much fun!
