He Bebette, danse avec moi
Ce soir on fais dodo
Danse avec moi, Bebette, oui
Under the stormy sky
Papa, y a vendu la terre
La terre et la vache
Danse avec moi, Bebette, oui
Under the stormy sky
Jean-Paul, il joue le violon
La belle l'accordeon
Danse avec moi, Bebette
On this stormy night
I hear the whipporwill cry
I see the blue heron fly over
Sugar Hill, snowy white
Big blue siren in the night
Come with me Bebette, we go
Under a stormy sky
I hear the T. H.& B
The diesel turning
Calling you and me
To the city of steel
Smokestack - spinning wheel
Come with me Bebette, oui
Under the stormy sky
My heart is sad
To leave Sugar town
Goodbye Sugar Hill
On this stormy night
He Bebette, danse avec moi
Ce soir on fais dodo

Had to bump this up to an 8 cause every time I hear it I have to sing along. Best part is my wife's name is Lynnette. Danse avec moi, Lynnette.
Many years ago I uploaded this and a few other songs to the test channel. They weren’t accepted but I’m glad to hear this hear, probably in better quality than I uploaded them in 🙂
sounds like Paul Simon
wooden dancefloor music, holydays, southern France, and so on. Great!

Thank you... :-)
Here's some worthless information for your edification:
The T.H.&B. is the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railroad. The railroad was based in Hamilton, Ontario. Its lines never reached Toronto or Buffalo.

This makes me happy.
Love my homie Danny. Here in Gatineau, Quebec. Je t’aime.

>> that wiki picture has got to be one of the worst pics of DL i've ever seen. it so fails to capture his essence

Check out Black Dub - one of DL's many iterations. Fantastic. I've tried submitting some of their songs but they don't make it. It's a mystery to me why - it's amongst DL's best work.
Just recently discovered Daniel Lanois. Don't know how I missed him before. Won't let it happen again. His production on Wrecking Ball is truly wonderful. God I love EmmyLou, too, and guess who Bill has on the playlist next? Jeeeez!! That's what makes this stream so great!

For something completely different check out

I saw Daniel Lanois at Jazz Fest in New Orleans a few years ago, a set that was kinda uninspired until this song...then, all of a sudden, the audience was into the music, Cajun dancing, all under a (literally) stormy sky! Glad to finally see the real lyrics in French.

Yeah, I was listening the next time on the old go around!
Always one of my favorite albums . . . can we rate the albums too? If so this one would be an easy 11.
Good Tune, excellent producer.
The only good learning French in school ever did me was to allow me to understand Daniel Lanois' lyrics.
In any language, this song's a 10!
"Danse avec moi, bebe..." Love this! I gotta get me this Acadie album toute suite.

I'm not sure if i'm happy with the last U2 album. Maybe I need to let it grow on me more - give it time - but maybe it's because Daniel Lanois doesn't play a big part in the production. I am a big U2 fan, but maybe deep down I'm really a Daniel Lanois fan. I love his work. In my view, U2's best albums are produced by Lanois.
He IS an incredible producer. I loved his work on Emmylou's "Wrecking Ball" as well....
Ahhhh........."Acadie". One of my all time favorites. Someone below said they didn't like the last song on Acadie? Aaron Neville's "Amazing Grace"?! C'mon.....

Great album... except for the last song. Go through a breakup and that last one will break your heart.
"Acadie"--a true musical masterwork. Am uploading another track from it as we speak.
