There is at least one software that lets you rip audio from DVDs. If you have an audio interface to the computer, you could possibly record it to a device while playing the song.

Man, this PT band is so good, the fans make favourable comparisons to some Icelandic band that nobody has heard about. -hehe-

I presume that is Richard Barbieri on the keyboards. I wouldn't underestimate his contribution to the mood and sound of PT music scapes.

This song is on their 5.1 surround sound DVD mix of Deadwing as a bonus track. That's a lot cheaper than amazon. You'll need a home theatre system that can play DTS 5.1 though. All their surround sound stuff is really excellent and has extra tracks and goodies. The Deadwing 5.1 mix has the "International Pop Star" making of Deadwing video on it (the one you can watch on youtube) very fun stuff

You might even try eBay- I think it's selling for a bit less there if you want the CD version.

To all of you that think this song is too slow or boring I pose this question: Do you always drive your car in high gear? Probably not. Sometimes you have to downshift to climb a hill. I think this song is beautiful in its simplicity. I especially like the sparse slide guitar parts. Less is more. I found much comfort in this song during a difficult time. What's so funny about peace, love and soothing songs?

Perhaps, but it's not the effect it has on me. Whenever I hear this song or other music in this genre all it makes me want to do is beat my head against the nearest wall. For some reason music like this makes me really aggitated.

I'm not a huge fan of Porcupine Tree, although I do enjoy them everytime I hear 'em. Everytime I'm listening, and I hear a song come on that's obviously NOT Pink Floyd, but sounds a lot like them, I think that it's probably Porcupine Tree. This song was no exception... Still a good song though.

Pocupine Tree was formed in 1987 and Sigur Ros in 1994. However, one of the things that makes Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree so special is the way he is able to appropriate and blend other bands sounds into his own work creating something his own. Wilson's music has always been derivative of bands I've always appreciated and this is a bit of a welcome surprise, too.
