Such a long night
Pick up that key
Don't drop your gaze in your coffee
Is it me?
Do I look beautiful in the half light?
It's been so long
Years have gone
Since I belonged
Hold me please
Stay with me
And I will sleep
I will go now
But I will be with you
Hold my gaze
Hold me inside you
It's been so long
Years have gone
Since I belonged
Hold me please
Stay with me
And I will sleep
Yes, this is beautiful. As is the title cut. And imo, because of these and other awesome tracks, too much PT is almost never enough.
I was just thinking the same thing, very much so
I own it in DVD format and, well, for the mp3 version, I just downloaded a 256 kbps file off i-net.
Love it. Great road music especially when the vistas are extraordinarily beautiful which is typically the case in British Columbia.
Still offered at C$78 to C$352.....
Cheaper on Amazon.com (the US site) for US$30.
This is the Porcupine Tree space rock/Floydish period at its best.
better than!

Softer. Not weaker. That's why it's on the Lazarus extended CD.

it does
Wilson couldn't have achieved that sound without Richard Barbieri.
Lovely piece. .....
Gorgeous.
Lou Reed died. I'll smoke a pipe to his memory tonight.
Just listened to this for the second time. Porcupine Tree just keeps bringing it.
Watched the American Masters on Lou today. I'll be raising one as well.

I have Half-Light on the Anesthetize DVD.
Any suggestions on how to rip to an MP3 file which I would burn to a CD for the automobile?
There is at least one software that lets you rip audio from DVDs. If you have an audio interface to the computer, you could possibly record it to a device while playing the song.
Love it.

My first thought too. My colleagues are totally anoyed now. The support for my musical taste is decreasing to zero
Let your colleagues enjoy 3FM while you are a few orders of magnitude more advanced :)
I couldn't agree more. This song is taken to a new level in that set. I love that DVD!
Definitely one of my favorite songs on the DVD!
Wished the guitar solo went on a little longer.
AMEN!! BTW, that DVD, 'Anesthetize' is incredible! (blu-ray or DVD) I can watch it over and over again and it blows me away every time. The best music DVD that I own. It's like a religious experience watching it on a great sounding home theater system. I've already shown it to a couple of friends (both had never even heard of the band) and one went out that day and bought it. One of the best sounding DVD's out there, and if you're a PT nut, it's a MUST HAVE.

The members of PT are never inactive! Steven Wilson produces so much music beyond PT. He has solo work, did an album with the lead Singer of Opeth (Storm Corrosion), etc.
Gavin Harrison has multiple drum clinics, played with King Crimson this summer. Colin Edwin has his own side projects as does Richard Barbieri.
The are one of the most active group of musicians in the business. Time to wish them to get together and make a new album. Or better yet, have another US tour!
Ha - you are right about that!
Looking forward to Wilson's re-mix of "Thick As A Brick"

Me three.
But why are your colleagues annoyed?
They don't like lush, meandering soundscapes?

That is a stupendous idea.
Good to know because I feel that "MUST HAVE" urge creeping up on me.
Best of the New Year to the obsessed fans. As for the non-believers, interrogation chambers and re-education centres are being planned. But I wish you all the best in the New Year too.
...but not sung in Icelandic ;)
Sigur Ros don't sing in Icelandic ;)
This is on the new DVD as well. And it's perfectly acceptable to become completely obsessed with PT and rant to all your friends about it like a preacher trying to fill the contribution plate! Welcome to the Porcupine Tree club.....

"half-light" is the perfect title for this (very nice) song,

Hear hear!!
(sorry, RP just introduced me to PT)

I so so dig this band.
Man, this PT band is so good, the fans make favourable comparisons to some Icelandic band that nobody has heard about. -hehe-
I presume that is Richard Barbieri on the keyboards. I wouldn't underestimate his contribution to the mood and sound of PT music scapes.
Yes, the live version has a great extended guitar solo by Steven Wilson.
He really tears it up
Ditto!
A band I would have never heard of anyway without RP. Beautiful.
Newbury Comics is selling the DVD-A on the Amazon.com website ($24.99-new).
...but not sung in Icelandic ;)
Now up to $120 on Amazon.
SAY WHAT??
Its up to $80 now. Great song, but I wouldn't pay $80 for any single.

This must be something like my 2nd listen of this song and I recognized Steven Wilson immediately.
Don't believe that I have this.
So what is the best way of ripping DVD-A to mp3 files?
Finally caught this one!
Porcupine Tree consistently amazes me; never heard a bad song.
BTW Poricupine Tree rules; Radiohead blew it; PT takes over now.
HA - GOOD ONE!

The song is on the DVD-A of Deadwing - Only 15-bucks —>HERE

Nice to be hanging in a place where folks sign their home as Cascadia.
Any fans of Eco-topia here?
You bet!!!! Have not heard that in a long time, I still talk to people about eco-topia, they just don't get it. I live it. East of the Rockies?? where? Over by Europe?
