I am alternating between tears and the need to dance: discovering this song thanks to RP is like hearing Kotke's "6- and 12-string Guitar" (aka Armadillo) for the first time. Not only have I completely forgotten that Mr. Cockburn can wring the most out of a guitar, but I've forgotten the sunny days on the farm I summered at way back when. This album is like a time machine of emotion and this song is a magnificent delight of fresh cut alfalfa, hours spent disking a field, and learning more in 3 months than all of HS put together. Thanks RP!

I read somewhere he recorded this as he was a having creative block in coming up with new words for songs. Hard to believe but I am thankful as the entire CD is fantastic. If you ever see him live he starts with an instrumental to get loosened up
