She's got big red lips
She's got big brown eyes
When she treats me right
It's a big surprise
She won't do anything
That she said she would
She makes me feel good
She makes me feel good

I ask her come here baby
She tells me no, no
I ask me drive me here
She tells me drive your own
She likes to race my motor
Then slam my hood
She makes me feel good
She makes me feel good

When the angels look down from above
They see a very special love
How she makes me do what no one could
She makes me feel good
She makes me feel good

So buddy if you're feeling down and blue
And your girlfriend treats you bad too
Man just remember what she's bound to do
She'll make you feel good
She'll make you feel good

She's got big red lips
She's got big brown eyes
When she treats me right
It's a big surprise
She won't do anything
That she said she would
She makes me feel good
She makes me feel good

Great to hear LL dusted off, he has been a big missing here on RP. Great track and album.

Indeed
the wife's and my wedding song from 31 years ago.  we learned to ballroom dance to this one.  thanks, Amy!

Lyle was good enough for Julia Roberts for a bit, no?

{#Lol}
It's a little harsh to complain about any of his works.

I don't know a lot of his songs but I'm pretty sure this is not Lyle's best.
A bit annoying.

"Not that complicated music for sure but how bounding this style can be, especially when performed by such an excellent bunch of good and friendly bandmembers, I simply love this texan guy only by this live concert, have a try............."- Lyle Lovett and his Large Band - She makes me feel good.

Ok
But

Lyle is a consummate poser. {#Rolleyes}
LOVE this song, Lyle & his large band do an awesome job of this live.  His back up singer rocks.

This CD was my intro to LL as well - I love this CD.  Some very clever and throught provoking lyrics.  This track is just plain fun.
Saw him with his big band a few years back. At the concert he added some extra string players. He is a good performer and he spends time introducing songs and sharing a little of his humour. And the performances have lots of space where he and the band get to show their stuff. Glad this is in the RP rotation.
Lyle is one successful poser.
This cd was my introduction to LL and I love every cut on it.  Thanks to Moe for the introduction!

This freaking song was on the Pier 1 soundtrack for about a year. I heard it at least five times a day. I HATE it now.

Yeah, I've found him better in limited doses.

I love this album but I'm having a hard time with the realization that it's 17 years old. I can remember when it came out. Geez I'm gettin' old.

Oh, you're just a kid.  I remember when the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doors, etc., came out!

Someone should upload "Church".  Great song!

*edit* I see it's in the library....

I never thought I'd like a song by Lyle Lovett, but I like this one!

I still can't quite believe he was married to Julia Roberts. Was it because of his large band?

Try the sound of silence.
no.
not the song. . .turn off the stream so we no longer have to learn you dislike a song. Most folks take for granted you will hate whatever song is being played. . . so, one wonders. . . much like PG before you. . . . Just why the he11 do you listen to Bill's selections anyway?

(sorry to feed the troll. . . it was my turn, but I refuse to clean the cage, Mucking is for others to do)

Sure is. I love the noir of some tracks and the coy, back-handed jubilation of others (including this selection). The minimalistic "She's Already Made Up Her Mind" is one of the coldest, most heartbreaking songs I've heard.
You know of what you speak, my friend...

Probably because of his large talent.. the exact opposite of her.
I take that back, at least partly. She's not so bad.
THID GUY IS TOO COOL FOR HIS OWN HAIR. LOVE HIM WITH THE LARGE BAND SOUND.
Lyle\'s the man, plain and simple.

I always thought she married WAY above herself. Hannio wrote:

thank god thats over... whew
Great CD and song.

Favorite album with the Large Band.
A little bit of trivia: He chose this album title because it is the only three consecutive books of the bible that form a complete sentence.

Love Lyle . . . one of those faces made for radio with an outstanding style, voice and sound.
He's saying lips right?
hey, when it is good, it IS good! I normally don't like this type of music but in Lyle's case I will make an exception!!

Pre-Julia. People always asked "What in the heck does she see in him?" I always thought it was the other way around. Lyle is a treasure. Great CD.
