She's sleeping
Weeks at a time
And when she wakes up
She watches TV
Counting cracks in the ceiling
No, I don't know what she's thinking
So I give up, waiting for someone waiting
Talking to someone, staring
I never come around
I never come around
I left her fifteen years behind
Girl's laying down
Never come around
So much for girl staying
In afraid of
Beeing needed
And seen she watches
The world on a screen
She's distant
And God knows I tried to leave her
But she's got a constant fever
I let it slip my mind
I never come around
I never come around
I left her fifteen years behind
I know a girl laying down
No, I never wasted my time
We have something in common
She's as different as I am
In her photo: she looks pissed off.
Why so pissed off?
The universe gives us some pretty amazing coincidences, doesn't it?

Why so pissed off?
maybe because some of us are not fans of this? idk... ;)
Adele: Make You Feel My Love
Marvin Gaye: Let's Get It On
Anna Ternheim: Girl Laying Down
note to self:
I don't think my work colleagues appreciate me turning the lights down in the office!
Why so pissed off?
Sweden....rox!
And Anna is a fox!
Great memories around this song. The year 2007, burned in my heart.
For me 2007 was great too. I got married that year after being together for 5 years. That's 15 years ago. Still happily together. 20 years now. Half of my life.
As the previous poster wrote it's a half-step, alternating vamp (F# - G). That (Phrygian - maybe?) chord combination was not "invented" by Jefferson Airplane. But maybe she was inspired by that song - a lot of people were.
This song has really really grown on me. Just great, especially when it explodes into the chorus.
There's only a teeny passing resemblance to White Rabbit - the chords during the verse, alternating up and down a half-step.
+ intro ("White Rabbit")
Silly wish: Listen to Ternheim perform in a coffee house setting where my friends and I get to sit within 4 metres of the artist.

True genius.
Not much competition in Sweden, I bet Sophie Zelmani has won a few awards to.
Yet more people listen to live music per capita in Sweden than.....................anywhere.
Is the rest of the CD this good or better?
This song stands up well after a few listens.

You've listed nine songs a ten, two by Hendrix and two by Led Zep, kind of puts your comment in context.

Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have regrets. The good news is you can still buy the album. Please use the RP links so they will get a commission.

If the song is part of my frustration, my comments are pertinent. Of course, that's only if I assume that your assertion is correct. I don't. These forums serve many purposes; comments about the music, random memories evoked by the song, political diatribes and geometric arrangements of dancing bananas, just to name a few.
It seems as if the most of the music here causes you "frustration", since the substantial majority of your ratings are "3" or below - but I agree, the commentary here need not be limited to just the song itself. Discussion of geometric arrangements is always a good thing.
Sounds a little like Bjork.
Totally agree. My head jerked when she painfully rhymed leave her with her having a fever. Did she really do that? This rates as "acceptable" to me.
This performance was broadcasted on Studio Virtanen by TV8, a swedish tv channel.
Perhaps it is my mood.

Me, too....all of her songs played on RP have grown on me. Love it.

Love the syncopation in this, frequently used to color a tune with edgy energy.
Guess the record publisher is as ignorant as you.
No one in this country can speak anymore.
Why can't those durned furriners lern to speak English as good as we do here? By the way; what country is it you are in?
The jerkiness is actually what drew me to the song and caused me to like it. I bought the CD based on this song and haven't been disappointed with it.
(BTW, you get bonus points for "jerkiness"...great way of describing the melody of the verses.)
Same here...though I thought "syncopation" rather than "jerkiness". But you gave me a new word to use so people don't look at me funny. :)

Interesting parallel. Good song.

Wha...?? Non-sequitur!!!

Language changes. For example nobody says "the data are" even though data is the plural of datum.
Everything changes.
Relax. Enjoy.Try a hobby.

Perhaps Anna was laying bricks made from Goose down... In that case she would be grammatically correct in being a "Girl Laying Down"
You would still be an idiot though, Gednabb...

Ironic that you correct her grammar but get her name wrong.

Give her a break, she isn't from this country.
And it should properly be 'I guess'
as in "I guess you have too much time on your hands."

Verse is ok
Chorus is awesome... I love soaring choruses.

ok, also agree concerning this song!
this singer, ms. Anna Ternheim, in general it has a good register of voice, but particulary in this song, cousin and shines for the allure, the tenderness; excellent and careful partition and composition; very well obtained; the inspiration has moments!!... - 7 / 8
I remember it was good. Her voice was perfect for a Buffy song.

Clearly she's teaching a Swedish moping class.
I don't know what that means, but I did hear the Bjork! ;)
Every song, enjoyable.
In particular this song reminds me of my youth...how I left the girl I used to be 15 years ago.
