The beginning of this song sounds to me like they've taken 'Harmony in My Head' by the Buzzcocks and just played it slower. It sounds remarkably similar.

It could be almost anybody (or a cover band) from the late '70's and the lyrics are almost trite, a typical problem for a foreign language band. I am really starting to resent the "love-fest" here on RP for Madrugada... Granted, I fell hard for "Majesty", the live version, and got sucked into the fanfare, but the other songs being played here just don't come close (and for that matter, even "Majesty" has lost its luster after being totally over-played here on RP.) Sorry Bill, but I'm still wondering if this dude isn't your long lost cousin?? I don't get it, you usually have great taste, but this band doesn't reflect that.

Yes, the live version of Majesty is very moving and intense, and certainly woke me up to the quality of Madrugada. We're on a roll here, right enough, the second 9 on the trot. Sadly the lead guitarist of Madrugada died in 2007 from a drug overdose (see Wikipedia) and I'm not sure if the band is going to continue - the official website doesn't have any up to date news.

Hmm. I'd not thought of Madrugada as a Goth band before now - not much in the way of existential angst, religious imagery, or thanatos. I'm happy to be proved wrong, mind, being a closet Goth myself. This song just keeps getting better and better for me, and may reach the rarefied heights of 10 at some point in the near future.
The guitar always reminds me of 'Southern Girl' by Neil Young!

Vocal and song style remind me of Jackie Leven and Doll by Doll, an absolutely awesome band from England, circa 1980. A band that was equally loved and hated but always pushed the boundaries.
