I take it the Nottingham jury is a jury of 1, but I always picture the jury as a bunch of middle aged codgers with powdered wigs and robes listening intently to the computer speakers for new tunes, adjourning to another room, and then returning to render their verdict. Is there any way to appeal to a higher court?

Great classic blues rock. Toe-tapping stuff, nice rough guitar in the background. What I love about this genre is that you can create a hell of a sound simply with drums, bass, lead guitar and vocal. No synths, no backing tracks, no technical virtuosity, just good ol' down and dirty, rough 'n' ready, blues rockin'. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

You are correct on all accounts. Mike Mattison is the lead singer here. After the bands merged, not so much -- and I miss his bluesy growl. Ms Tedeschi doesn't have that, and Mr Trucks never sings. Ever.
Seen them three times in Atlanta, and they certainly do bring the joy!
i think the main reason i liked this band was due to the lead singer. i'm sad he's not doing it anymore. he was fabulous. saw them live one time in lexington, and it was pretty great.
