She's got a 3D Jesus in a picture frame
Got a child she's never named
She shakes a snake above her hair
Talks in tongues when there's no one there

So meet me tonight by the Red River
Where the water is clear and cold
Meet me tonight by the Red River
And look down into your soul
Look down into your soul

She's got a rosary and a rabbit's foot
A black cat bone that keeps her good
A tiger tooth and a gris-gris stick
Still it don't do the trick

So meet me tonight by the Red River
Where the water is clear and cold
Meet me tonight by the Red River
And look down into your soul
Look down into your soul

I'm gonna walk her down to gypsytown
Find the spirit queen I've seen around
Paint her body up in mud and clay
Let the river wash it all away

So meet me tonight by the Red River
Where the water is clear and cold
Meet me tonight by the Red River
And look down into your soul
Look down into your soul
Look down into your soul

Okay wiegandshawn, I love Tom Petty. You got a problem with that?

Nice gritty bottom on this one!
Not enough love for this song.

A little Harsh, but you make a good point.

Rock Legend, gone on to The Other Realm... I'm feeling forever-grateful for the always excellent and truly special music you and your band made, and for being there, rockin' and rollin' for me, since my Wild and Crazy high school days. And how can I ever forget that incredible Red Rocks show in '85? Well, there's no way that I can, and you shall have my continued thoughts and admiration always.

We're told after Petty got to the hospital he had no brain activity and a decision was made to pull life support.
Picture tells.Funy, I didn't know what I wanted, she knew what I needed.

The cover is about wild hypnotic orgasms...

everybody in my alien space craft loves this song, and this marvelous album...
Being a bass player myself, I love how the bass is up in the mix on most all of the songs on Hypnotic Eye.

Heard it the first time with volume subdued and it's one of the few Petty songs that I have not recognized instantly (generally because of his distinctive vocals)... I like it when an industry icon fools me--and sounds good doing it. Both listens broke me out of a reverie (or maybe some hypnotic state that I was in) and that's usually a 7 for me.
Yes, Tom and Co. rock man, in a pleasingly OUTRAGEOUS kick-ass way
I'm Mr. Petty's age; Nuthin' feels like it did 30 years ago.

He puts on a good show. Not sure if he still feels it the way he did 30 years ago but I'll bet it's great. Of course his band is second to none. When I saw him with Dylan, Bob called them the best rock & roll band in the world and am sure he meant it.

So, we get another impressive  release from a long time experienced artist/group. Chrissie Hynde, another, coming out last month.
Nice song.  Am eager to hear more.

Going to see this band for the first time soon. Been a fan since 1976. It's a dream come true. Whether he plays anything from the new album is completely immaterial.

I'll start that one with a 7. A bit conventional, but a nice rocker all the same.

First listen = OK, kinda like the bass line and that little break in the middle.  I'll throw it a 5.
Not bad,,, I like the divergent comments......
Wow! And not in a good way! Tom has sounded SO much better; it doesn't even sound as if they were trying to put out something worth listening to. I'm sure glad that he and the Heartbreakers have pulled out of their plans to come to KC so I wouldn't be tempted to go. I have proudly given this song a "1" rating. {#Doh}
This is awful.
Excellent track!
Sounds like his last album Mojo which was and is a 10!!
New Tom Petty....Hey Now {#Bananajam}
