Murder tonight in the trailer park
Mrs. Annabelle Evans found
with her throat cut after dark
Her pockets turned inside out
her dresser drawers turned upside down
Anna's neighbour, Peg, identifies the body
lets out a hollow kind of sound

Homicide is tying yellow ribbons
around her silver Airstream
Red cherries slashing up the night
cutting through that cordoned crime scene
There's been a murder
in the trailer park tonight

Murder tonight in the trailer park
Pack your things Ann Marie,
we're heading west
we're going to make a fresh start
I've been saving pennies,
been looking forward to this day
No time for questions are you coming
or are you going to stay?

Crosstown at the Waterton
George Evans is sitting tall and tight,
buying drinks for all the regulars
bragging about how them bones
danced for him tonight
There's been a murder
in the trailer park tonight

Murder tonight in the trailer park
Faceless man counting crumpled bills,
hotel neon fights the dark
TV set in the corner, they're talking murder
on the late-night news
He turns down the sound,
waits for the sports,
he only wants to know,
'Did I win or did I lose'

There's been a murder
in the trailer park tonight
Murder tonight in the trailer park

Sweet little ditty with great drumming and guitar work.  Super voice to boot. Sad story though. :(

I think this is their second-best album. Trinity Sessions is still tops though. When it came out, it was unlike anything else, and still stands on its merits.

Agreed. Had this cassette while roaming around Paris. Needed a little Canadiana to combat the culture shock.

Hmmm...

Can't relate.

Whatever!

I like her voice!

Ma...Ma...Ma...Margo...mmm
I love Cowboy Junkies, but for some reason, I just don't like this - it sounds too much like a copy of a song from Crescent Moon to me.
She's 51 today
I have never heard this before... but I think I just love everything they do... and I love Bill for playing them  {#Heartkiss}
Spectacular. Solid.
I ain't even gonna front, I really don't like this band, but in spite of her lame voice, this song is pretty good!
OK I like this one - she's got the voice working over the instrumentation . . .
Fabulous stuff, their version of Sweet Jane that Oliver Stone used on Natural Born Killers is sublime...

At his best, Michael Timmins is one of the great unsung songwriters going (see also "Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning").  Love the cinematics here...  love it all, actually.
This is the CJ's in their prime.
Fabulous bass line
I'm not sure it's related, but I did request it last week or so

Yes. Why is this sitting in the "never played" section when so many inferior, but generically similar songs, have a regular rotation?
This is one of the better Cowboy Junkies songs. Perhaps Bill should cull his playlist to play some of the songs that haven't been played?

This needs a spin.
