Probably.    Then I have known lots of heavy tokers who smoke from the time they roll out of bed.  Especially those who experienced nasty industrial accidents that left them with chronic pain.

I wonder if some of the young victims are swallowing the smoke.

Thanks R_D.  And here I thought I had been around the block, once or twice.  This is a completely new problem for me.   I have never encountered anybody with these kinds of symptoms.

Though it fits with the forecast that social acceptance and legalization risked more cannabis-driven medical problems.

I guess it was so easy for many of us back in the day.   The hashish was strong but just expensive enough that most of us did it only occasionally.   The weed was weak; even the specialty brands (Thai sticks, Panama Red, Colombian Gold) were relatively weak by today's standards.  Many of us went to a high school classroom buzzed ONCE and quickly concluded that it did not work with learning.

I do not know what to say other than parents should minimize the disposable cash available to their adolescent children.   Shower them with goods in kind, if you must; otherwise avoid showering them with cash.

Cool band SirD!

Was wondering how the IDF was dealing with cannabis as that has been an 'issue' in most rich nation armed forces.   Found this:

IDF court to ease rules on cannabis use for officers and NCOs

The decision by Hayut may signal optimism for those still hoping Israel will follow through on its promise to legalize recreational cannabis.

Cool video SirD (see below).  Kenya, eh?    The co-host with the really deep, gravelly voice had me thinking that he was a smoker too.

Love 'cannabis sativa' meself but make no mistake, the drug can be addictive and have all kinds of negative impacts.

I've been through there many times as a child in the 50's and 60's.  Became a giggle in the 60's.

the Siskiyous.
I haven't heard that name since childhood.  So much learned and so much forgotten.

I lived on Modoc Street in Berkeley.  Us kids were called the Modoc Indians by other parts of the family at that time.

Thanks for the giggle.

New York Reaches a Deal to Legalize Recreational Marijuana
The move paves the way for a potential $4.2 billion industry, with millions of dollars in sales tax revenue reinvested in minority communities each year.

Biden is whiter and older?  Odd.  Except Trump, since Reagan, every president has pulled on a joint at some point or another.

Man, no matter what the real story is, the optics on this one are terrible.  But before condemning this as a big political miscalculation, where in the Democratic would pressure emerge to purge staff of marijuana smokers?  What's the back story?

Biden White House Sandbags Staffers, Sidelines Dozens for Pot Use

Dozens of young White House staffers have been suspended, asked to resign, or placed in a remote work program due to past marijuana use, frustrating staffers who were pleased by initial indications from the Biden administration that recreational use of cannabis would not be immediately disqualifying for would-be personnel, according to three people familiar with the situation. The policy has even affected staffers whose marijuana use was exclusive to one of the 14 states—and the District of Columbia—where cannabis is legal. Sources familiar with the matter also said a number of young staffers were either put on probation or canned because they revealed past marijuana use in an official document they filled out as part of the lengthy background check for a position in the Biden White House.

In some cases, staffers were informally told by transition higher-ups ahead of formally joining the administration that they would likely overlook some past marijuana use, only to be asked later to resign.

Some irony: Barack Obama wouldn't be allowed to work for Joe Biden.

Oh course...Kamala Harris gets a pass.

Because irony is dead.
