I've spent the last couple weeks over analyzing every post I make ( well some of 'em{#Lol}) , but now it's time to get back to being the insensitive, uncaring dork that I am and just post what I want.I'm pretty good at self censorship.

No offense meant, but I'm not into playing defense with my posts, it's not much fun. Sure, I hit the occasional flat note, but I'm in the pocket most of the time.

Relax.  I was simply inquiring.  I already knew to put your posts into the insensitive, asshole category anyway.  No harm, no foul.

Some of that red is located in Alabama, pretty close to where I live.  Arkansas, sure but there's a pretty wide misconception about that kind of crap where Alabama is concerned. We are not hicks or inbreeds.  It's a state in the union where people fear change they don't understand.  Plain and simple.

I support Obama, anyway.

careful, this map shows a trend direction, not a result. if you go to the generating page:http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html you can play with the options yourself. If you look at county leaders, you will see that geographically, the country is still dominated by Republicans (makes sense as that is the rural trend). If you go back to the 90's, there were more blue counties in those rural areas.

Again, it would be really nice if we could get past this us/them blue/red division. The reality is that we are people w/ opinions that fall on a continuum. And there is a fiscal line and a social line (and probably several others) that our views fall along. And just because your view differs from someone else, they may not be wrong.

I know - camps/tribes... it's our nature. But it would be helpful if we could get past this and concentrate on our more important problems. Once everyone is fed, the economy is stable, our energy situation is sustainable, reasonable healthcare is available to all, and we have declared world peace, then I'm comfortable getting back to the discussion about who is sleeping with who, and which God is the best.

Beats the heck out of the regular "red box, blue box" models...

I stopped off at a 7-11 on the way home, about 7 p.m. or so, and there was a crowd of 30 or so people waiting for delivery of some of the commemorative editions of the Post. It was all quiet and orderly, and apparently the 7-11 manager had given people numbers for when the papers arrived so they did not have to stay in a line. Anyway, right after I entered the store, the delivery truck came. The manager came in with a stack of the papers and put them down on the floor near the register, but before he could even untie them, the people descended upon them and started grabbing them while pushing and shoving. The manager was able to restore order, and a line, but it was pretty close to fights.

WTF, is what I thought. And I wondered if any of those folk who were screaming and pushing and shoving had even listened to what Obama has been saying in his speeches.

Yeah, the ship does turn rather slowly.

They're all over E-Bay now, including an unbroken bundle of 20 for 300 bucks (with bids) and a handful of Buy-It-Now options for 20 bucks or so.

I found a copy of the regular edition - not the cheesy "Commemorative Edition" - in an open recycling bin. I think I might list it for 50 cents.
