You know what I truly love to watch.......?

I love to watch taboos melt away & this one has been long overdue.
That & watching old men's tired old traditions crumble into the dust of history.

Welcome to the 21st Century, AMERICA.

This is a New Dawn indeed.

{#Cheers}

I awoke this morning feeling something that hasn't been there in a long time. Proud to be an American observing our democratic process in action! I truly believe we've chosen the right person for the job!!!

Yes that's true, there was some booing for Obama at McCain's event, but I meant at the restaurant where we watched the speech. I was impressed how all these hard core Obama supporters respectfully listened to McCain, and even applauded before helping him out the door.

I thought it was a very graceful concession - "the election's over, and maybe it didn't go the way we'd wanted, but we did our best, so let's move forward together with our new President".

Would've been nice if his supporters hadn't booed, but I was glad to see him discourage that.

Another very cool thing; When McCain started his concession speech, there was no booing. Everyone in the place got quiet and respectfully listened to his speech. It was really nice response to a good speech.

I have to admit though, when they were walking off the stage, we all took some pleasure in yelling and waving goodbye. {#Cheesygrin}

Yeah, that was a pretty classy display of authority in action.

One can only hope.

Western democracy has long been viewed favorably abroad if only by certain suppressed minorities.. unfortunately the self-centered actions of western governments have given it extremely bad press for the last 30 years (at least)... it's going to take a long time to restore faith and trust that western democracy is not really just a smart system used by rich countries to screw the poor and dispossessed.

What an amazing election night! Democracy works, all you have to do is become informed and get out of bed and go vote.

Watching events in Grant Park blew me away.

Some personal disappointments:

- Florida voted for the one man, one woman marriage amendment (why is that even in the state constitution? )

- Rep. Bachmann ("we should investigate members of Congress for un-American activities") was reelected in Minnesota.

- Coleman beat Al Franken in the Minnesota senate race (but only by 570 votes, there has to be a recount, no? )

Way to go America!

Franken is brilliant. I  wish he would come represent my state.
